Flyers acquire Bryzgalov's rights
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to MacK_Attack's topic in General
I don't think Carcillo, Boynton, or Matt Walker are coming back to Philly next year. Did Laperriere officially retire yet? If Scott Hartnell is available, I say we go after him. Also, Leino may test the free agent market. Philly will want him back, but someone (Toronto?) will throw a nice offer his way. The Flyers will be looking for some bottom 6 guys this offseason. -
Why did my post get deleted..? Edit: nevermind.

SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
What a crock of s***. The hit was late, that's it. No blindside. No elbow. You're gonna suspend a guy based on the outcome of a hit, nevermind the nature of it? Had Horton got right up, there might have been an interference minor called, nothing else. But because Horton was hurt, the hit MUST have been suspendable. Yikes, did Shanahan make this call? -

Good hard hitting game, minus the few 'Nucks dives and the biting taunting horses***. Burrows and Lapierre are pieces of s***. The Boston PK was just unbelievable, or the Nucks PP was terrible. Dan Paille, Gregory Campbell, and Chris Kelly all played aggressively on the penalty kill and forced a ton of turnovers. Shawn Thornton brought a ton of energy and physicality. He was strong on the puck. The call on Aaron Rome was bogus. At most, a 2 minute penalty for interference, as it looked a little late. Maybe Horton won't admire his passes anymore. Hope he's alright, though. Roberta Lu8ngo looked like his normal self tonight. -
At which point I will quit buying NHL jerseys. I think ads on every square inch of the boards are enough.

I wouldn't mind Jovanovski, but with an acquisition like him, we're hardly getting younger(Jovanovski turns 35 later this month). Who knows how much he has left in the tank. Ideally, Kevin Bieksa is my first choice, but we all know he will be overpaid by someone. Who knows if he's in Vancouver's future plans.

We've got one of the only arenas in the league not named after some corporate sponsor, which I find to be pretty cool. Hopefully we keep it that way, if a new building is put up.

When Ericsson is consistently physical, he's a decent shut-down guy. Bottom line is he is not physical on a regular basis and his defense is frightening at times. Someone will overpay him, this summer. Could be wrong, though.

New Study:Cell phones-cancer risk

Guarantee the phone companies want this to go away asap. I don't know why they act like this is breaking news... -
I love Dubinsky. We've got to find a way to get him here. He's got a ton of potential. Hudler won't be enough to get him here, and the Rangers would be silly to trade him, anyway. He's a real smart player, both offensively and defensively.

Atlanta Thrashers move to Winnipeg
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to CaptainCaveMan's topic in General
Dvorak has stated he wants to stay with the team, but then again that was before they were sold and all that. Eric Boulton's family is in Atlanta, I believe. Before this whole sale and relocation, it was pretty much a given he would stay with the Thrashers, but with the franchise moving to Winnipeg, Boulton could look elsewhere in the Southeast, or retire. Edit: Boulton has stated his family will make the transition with him to Winnipeg. Boulton plans on re-upping. -

Jannik Hansen had a great game. Throwing his weight around, drawing penalties. Vancouver just played hungrier tonight. It was a fairly physical game. Sure, there were some bad calls, but I thought it was a decent game. Burrows played hungry, as did Lapierre. Looking forward to game 2. -

The small following in Atlanta speaks out, that was creative! -
Thank you. Let him get overpaid by Sather or someone else. He hasn't panned out here.

I think we're going to win it all next season

It wouldn't be a Blueadams thread without lines and criticism of everyone else's opinion that doesn't match his. -

4 mil apiece on 4th liners? No thanks. -
Bourque left Boston for a serious Cup run. The Bruins were not a contender at the time he left. Lidstrom's situation is different. Detroit is a contending team every year.

Sad. I was going through some hockey cards earlier today and came across a Luc Bourdon rookie card. I know he passed in May of 2008, but I wasn't sure what day exactly. -
Ideally, Laich would be my top choice, but we all know Kenny isn't going to grossly overpay anyone. We all know he will be overpaid. TFP reported Edmonton could pursue him this summer. He's from Saskatchewan, maybe he'd like to play closer to home?

I do believe we need to bring defensively responsible players in, instead of focusing on offense, which I believe we are fine offensively. I believe we need to bring in a gritty player or two. To be clear, my definition of grit is going to the dirty areas to score, finishing your checks, tenaciously forechecking, and sticking up for your fellow teammates when needed, opposed to a goon who isn't going to do much more than fight. I am sick of watching lazy players get spots on the team simply because of loyalty. Hudler needs to go. I want players who will play hard every shift, regardless of the score or of the opponent.
-
I never said I didn't think he deserves a shot, I don't see anything wrong with competition in training camp, though. You're right I want nothing but goons on this team. Datsyuk for George Parros. Zetterberg for Colton Orr. Lidstrom for Matt Carkner. You caught me.. Yikes.
-
You think Mursak will play on the 2nd line this year? And yes, I suggested someone who is a borderline NHL player to compete for a spot in camp, so that must mean I want Wade Belak on the team. Never said I wanted a goon on the team, but you keep tryin', bud.
