Reeds v. Gallant: the rematch.
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to cusimano_brothers's topic in General
Holy s*** those teams were insanely tough. Gallant, Probert, Kocur Gallant was one of the extremely rare power forwards, like Harold Snepts said. The true definition of a power forward. -

Will Dan Markov have influence on Andre?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Man Behind #91's topic in General
5 mil is way too much of a risk for a guy who has played 52 regular season games in the last 2 years. BTW, Lidstrom is on a whole other planet compared to Markov, offensively, as well as defensively. -
Brian Rafalski announces retirement after 11 NHL seasons
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to MacK_Attack's topic in General
Exactly. Ryan Suter is a more realistic possibility, but even then, he's been Weber's pairing for years now, I can't really imagine Nashville just letting him walk. They're gonna do all they can to get Suter back. Whether he stays or not remains to be seen. People bring up Erhoff, but that doesn't seem likely either, especially with Vancouver's run right now. They're gonna want him around for a while too. -

For whatever reason, Montreal continues to keep him around. Never really understood that. Montreal's blue line will look much different when next season rolls around. -

Same goes with Nashville and Shea Weber. No way he's coming here. -

I've always liked Keith Ballard. Not #1 on my list, but he can throw a hell of a hipcheck. Brent Burns or James Wisniewski, please. -

I can't imagine Andre leaving Montreal, to be honest. -

Wow. Nobody saw that one coming. Finally, an interesting summer coming up. Edit: Doug Weight set to announce his future this week, as well. Looks like he may be done, as well. -

Pretty sad how people protest over moving a hockey team, instead of something like corporate greed. -

What's Marty McSorley up to these days? -
Nagy reminds me of Nikolai Zherdev. Way too streaky. Reitz couldn't hack it in the NHL, so he bolted for the KHL. The only guy I see on that list that I wouldn't mind taking a chance on is Mark Bell. Still relatively young, sign him to a league minimum contract and toss him for a few preseason games and see how he does. If he floats, keep him as a scrappy extra forward. Otherwise, send him to GR and call him up injuries pile up.

Dear Mr. Holland, For the love of Probie, please bring Brandon Dubinsky and a gritty faceoff guy to Detroit! Sincerely, Bring Back the Bruise Bros

I was afraid of this. If anyone comes across any Boogaard RIP shirts or anything like that, please post it in this thread. BTW, still waiting for that Probie RIP t-shirt (Cough, cough, Matt)

Some guys just don't work well in our system. Plain and simple. Some guys flourish in our system, and the second they get traded/leave via free agency, their careers go downhill. (See: Martin Lapointe, Mathieu Dandenault, Sergei Fedorov). Others just don't pan out well here.
-
I think if we traded him to a team that he could get constant top 6 foward minutes, maybe he'd be able to produce. Leino type situation. Maybe he'll work out to be a decent forward in a different system, but I don't see it working out here.

Downie's gotta be one of the more promising power forwards in the league. He's really come a long way with all of his issues in the past. He's top on my list. I doubt Stevie will let him go -

I'm not saying Konopka is anything more than a decent 4th liner. I never said he'll score 50 points, but judging a guy's offensive capabilities when he's got Martin,Haley,Gillies, and on occasion Comeau around him is ridiculous. -

Matt Martin didn't play in more than 40 games? Keep diggin' that hole, brother. -

So he played a few games on a line with a guy who scored over 40 points, he should've lit the lamp every night!!! Nevermind the fact that he played with Martin, Haley, and Gillies for a good chunk of the year, those couple games with Blake Comeau should've skyrocketed his poimt total!! He must really suck!!! yikes. -

You make it seem like teams can ****** whatever player they want. Konopka went to Long Island for playing time. "if teams thought he had potential, they would've signed him." He got offers from other teams, he wanted playing time. He also played with Matt Martin and Blake Comeau, who played in 68 and 77 games respectively. Still a "non-point"? -

Still over minimum. You make it sound like the Islanders were his last resort. He had a few other offers last summer. He chose where he thought he'd get the most playing time. So let me ask again, if you put one of our bottom 6 guys (Helm, Draper, Eaves, Miller, etc.) on a line with Trevor Gillies and Michael Haley, would they score 20 points? -

He's making more than league minimum. Sorry.
