Some possible NEEDED changes in the Offseason
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Probie's topic in General
It'll be interesting to see what he gets offered in free agency, after seeing contracts like those of Boogaard and Shelley last summer. -

Sucks that he retired -
Why put Hudler back in? Who knows what Franzen's situation is, but no way in hell does Miller sit for Hudler.

Joe Thornton is a ******* piece of s***. I hope he never ******* gets his name on the Cup. -
Somewhere out there, a Canucks forum is missing a retarded troll. At least Chairman has some respect and knowledge for the game, regardless of his allegiances.

I think that our "roster structure/balanced lines" philosophy

Joni Pitkanen will have a ton of offers this summer, and i'd be surprised if we snatched him. He logged 25+ mins a night for Carolina. Salei has got to go. Far too inconsistent. Same goes for Ericsson. How many chances is this guy gonna get to prove himself? We need to get at least one young, hungry, hard-nosed defenseman. In addition to mixing up the defense, I think we need to put some emphasis on faceoffs after watching us this postseason. Datsyuk/Zetterberg can't be out there for every draw. How about Boyd Gordon or Zenon Konopka? -

Do or die in Detroit! Let the 'pi fly, baby! I dont wanna see just one either! :octo: :octo: :octo: -
Big changes coming to Washington this summer. Jason Arnott was picked up solely for a deep Cup run. He isn't a part of their plan moving forward. Likewise for Marco Sturm and Scott Hannan, I believe. Dennis Wideman was a trade deadline acquisition and got banged up almost immediately, so who knows if they plan on keeping him around. Brooks Laich, Matt Bradley, Boyd Gordon, D.J. King, and Matt Hendricks are all impending free agents, if i'm not mistaken. Not too sure about Jason Chimera's contract status.

Some possible NEEDED changes in the Offseason

It's becoming more apparent each passing day that Filppula won't be much more than he is now, a floater. Get rid of him while he still has some trade value. Same can be said for Hudler. Looked atrocious to start the year off, then went on a tear, now he's invisible out there again. Just another "Leino". Quit signing washed up guys at the end of their careers. Let Salei go after we get eliminated. Let Modano go. Let Ericsson go. Bring some younger, hungrier guys into the mix. Less pretty, and a little more gritty. As much as I like Draper, we've got to get younger. Sign him to a 2-way deal so he can mentor the guys in Grand Rapids and fill in when need be. -
That makes two of us. Great penalty killer. He can skate a regular shift. Got at least some speed. Gotta think Stevie wants to keep him in Tampa.
-
He'll probably sign long-term this offseason. One of the most underrated acquisitions this season was Yzerman plucking Sean Bergenheim out of nowhere. He's looked great.

Anyone have a stream for MLB games? Love to keep up with Detroit, but i'm having a hard time finding a way to watch.

Another good game. Matt Halischuk, Blake Geoffrion, and Nick Spaling are really making waves around the league. They've all played acceptionally. The hooking call on Shea Weber that led to Vancouver's GW PPG was complete horse s***. Just a good playoff battle..

Tampa's role players really showed up tonight, as they have throughout the entire series. Nate Thompson, Dominic Moore, and Adam Hall were all noticeable out there tonight. Blair Jones filled in well. Don't look now, but Steve Downie has 10 points so far this postseason. This guy is the real deal, folks. I believe he is a free agent come this summer.

Disappointment. Is he wearing a visor permanently now?
