I don't think there is one player on this team that I can look at and say "Yeah, he could go in and score."
-
Has Ian White ever won a battle for a puck when a guy goes right at him? He gone. LOL AT ABBY AND FLIP GOING OFFSIDE!!!! Amateur hockey
-
Lol at any Red Wing fan who wouldn't want Gaborik on this team.
-
They've been teetering for a while now. Some think that they will look to blow it up and Darcy Reiger seems to be on his way out. And again with Franzen, he has the ability, but he doesn't have the drive to score 40. He'll get you 20-30, but we need a 40 goal man. (Dead horse)
-
Yes. I don't care how or when, but we need someone who can put that damn puck into that damn net.
-
Need a scorer. That is this team's most pressing need. They have been lacking a true, consistent scorer since Hossa left. Franzen is what he is. WE....NEED....A.....SCORER.

In the last week or so, there have been really only 3 higher end trades made and all of them include Pittsburgh. If there was one team that DIDN'T need to make a move, it was probably Pittsburgh. He has added one big defenseman and two long time captains and what has he given up? One top prospect (none of their top 5 prospects) and crap picks. NO roster players given up. Ray Shero is the best GM in hockey. Granted Sidney Crosby fell into his lap and if the 04-05 lockout didn't happen Crosby most likely would have been drafted somewhere else, but that is a different argument.

In a normal season, we would carry 7 d-men on the active roster, right? Assuming Dekeyser is what everybody says he is, that leaves someone out of luck. Two spots on the 3rd pairing between 3 guys: Kindl Lashoff Quincey Add in Bouwmeester and two guys are out of luck. I would venture to say we wouldn't go after him at this point, but I don't know. Colo - he gone White - he gone Huskins - never really here

My favorite play was when Ian White tried to skate the puck out of trouble behind the net and one of the Sharks players threw him to the ice from behind. Ian White is sad.

I went to pinckney. He went under the name Bobby Stevenson. He went to pinckney during the 02-03 year. He was in my science class. I actually helped him spy on his girlfriend LOL. If you did graduate in 08 then you technically weren't in school with him, but what you mention is accurate. A lot of people gave him s*** but at the same time he acted like a bit of a prick.

I would put Glen Sather and Paul Holmgren on the bottom
-
Nope, I don't remember that season to be anything at all for me. So for me, point taken. Though I don't like talking in futures like this. This Hawks team is better than a lot of Wings teams we have seen in the recent past. This. I know this has been said about a lot of goalies in the past, but Fleury really fits the bill. He is either a brick wall or a sieve.

Malkin will resign for $8.7? Those that are saying this DO realize that the market for him will be at least $10, right? If he resigns with Pittsburgh he will be taking less money if he indeed signs for less than $10. That is a fact.
-
For this year, considering we are still in the West.
-
Completely agree. I was more talking about the here and now. The moves look GREAT....if they win the Cup. Their problem against Philly last year was that they couldn't stop the Flyers from scoring. Their additions since then haven't really solve that problem.
-
No kidding. I'm not comparing Ray Shero to our GM, just mentioning that he is improving a team that didn't need improving.
-
Lol, come on. To call Iginla a role player is flat out BS.
-
Some future yes, but this is a pretty young team as it is. The kicker, for me, is the roster players. Receiving two captains and not having to give up a Kunitz/Kennedy/Dupuis/Sutter? Seems like Dallas and Calgary couldn't wait to get rid of them. I'm just saying Shero is being aggressive.
-
Well, people are saying that even with all of the prospects gone, Pittsburgh is still in pretty good shape as far as a farm system goes. To acquire those three players and not give up ONE-SInGLE-ROSTER-PLAYER........really?
-
I'll be devil's advocate and disagree. Although he hasn't been completely atrocious, every time he pinches, look out. The scariest plays with Ian White are the ones where he is the guy that needs to keep the puck in the zone at the blueline. Twice in the game Sunday he found himself in that spot and twice he gave up a 2 on 1. If he fails at that spot, he lacks the athleticism to recover.

Compounded by the fact that Kronwall can't hit the net to save his life.
-
Hey Kronner.....HIT THE NET!!!
-
Don't get me wrong, I think Fil is playing well. But his last two chances....that is where a goal scorer will score.
-
RESIGN MILLER NOW!!! Love that guy.
-
Is the consensus here still that this isn't really doable? I get that he is streaky, but are we in position to say no if it makes sense? If we somehow bring him in, it will leave us with about $12 million left to resign whomever. I dunno, I just wish Pav had a sniper.
