I hate them as much as the next guy. Even as they underachieved the last couple of seasons, they ALWAYS brought their A+ game when they played the Wings. Crawford always seems to play like Patrick Roy when they play us... But is anyone really that surprised as to how well they are playing right now? In my opinion, they have the deepest forward set in the entire league and I don't think it is really that close. Elite: Toews, Sharp, Hossa, Kane. I think that is the best top 4 in hockey. Secondary: Bolland, Frolik, Stalberg. Frolik is an underachiever, but I think for a secondary spot he is a nice get. I'm pretty sure I would take Bolland over Filppula. Bottom: Bickell, Shaw, Kruger, Saad. Excellent mix of youth and size. Bickell can get you at least 10 and I've liked what I've seen from the other three. They have a top 5 d-man (Keith) a top 15 d-man (Seabrook) and another solid one (Hjalmarsson). And I think that Crawford is a lot better than people want to admit. I was just thinking this as they have put this pretty incredible run together. To me, it is not all that surprising.

These points that they lose to Columbus will be a huge reason for missing the playoffs if that happens.

Feeling is mutual. I have always felt like this team can't wake up for these games.

In seasons past, he hasn't wasted too much time splitting up lines that aren't producing. The way he has handled this situation is very very confusing.

Mike Babcock was quoted as saying "They get one game. Period." when referring to our rookies coming in and showing what they've got. Apparently that does not apply to Abdelkader and Cleary who are deers in headlights when Pav passes them the puck. There is a reason Pav hasn't scored in 8 games.

Jesus, even on that pass where Abby let the puck go behind him. When Pavel Datsyuk passes you the puck, he doesn't expect you to get out of the way of it.

Little play like that where Clears can't handle a nice soft dish from Kronner......

LOL for Chicago too. Kane and Toews currently making $6.3 each. They are both coming due in the next 2-3 years. Although, this will be irrelevant for the Wings starting next year....

Granted, but not every NHL team is as good as the others.

I really don't like saying this, but it seems that this team is playing in the right division and the right conference in order to do what they're doing. I don't think they have this record if they had to play LA/Anaheim/Phoenix more often. Or if they had to play Vancouver more. They definitely wouldn't have this record if they played in the Atlantic or Northeast divisions. Most of their games are against teams that can't really come close to matching up skill wise: Nashville can't score, we can't score, St. Louis can't defend or score this year, and Columbus is Columbus. Right place at the right time....
