Malkin has been a better player over the past 2 years than Cindy... Unfortunately, he was inconsistent in playoffs and struggled in the Stanley Cup finals... He has been putting up numbers whether Cindy was on injured or on the ice. Obviously his assist figures will look better if he is on the PP feeding Ciny or on the same line with him, but he is still one of the best players in the league...

the game was great for both wings and hawks... Wings showed themselves that they can win if they focus (seems only when they consider it to be a serious opponent), so hopefully there will be less laziness... Hawks got a wake up call, which is good for them, so they won't get too cocky or careless come playoffs...

Turns out he had heart problems that might have started a year prior to his death that were not diagnosed. In additions to that he was taking steroids for a few months prior to his death... Investigators also concluded that if Cherepanov received the right medical help at the stadium where he collapsed, he would have been ok... The stadium didn't have the right equipment or paramedics on standby , so it is considered criminal negligence or something along those lines...

no they don't, but I think the issue is that they are much more likely to risk everything to get to NHL. Middle class in Russia doesn't compare to middle class in United States, so its not like they have other glorious options by comparison... I think this is why they more likely to take a serious risk...

the original article in Russian, which was based on the press release from Gov't investigation said doping... and specifically was said this is very bad news for Russian hockey... in Russian language the word "Doping" is used to describe steroids. For instance when Eastern Germany's athletes used Roids back in 70s and 80s in Russia this was described as Doping.. it just a play on words...

the article says that the tests showed that there were no drugs or alcohol at the time of Cherepanov's death. there were traces of steroids that were used within the past several months prior to his death. This wasn't KHL's investigation, authorities got involved, so this was triggered by the fact that there was no defibrillator at the arena and no paramedics on hold... They blame it on the fact that he had a heart issue that wasn't diagnosed and lack of equipment versus steroids... They actually also wrote that this is a major black eye for KHL and makes Russian hockey look really bad... btw whoever said he deserved to die for taking steroids? no one deserves to die... they all probably do stupid things at young age, especially in Russia trying to make it to nhl... he is young kid...
