Since Datsyuk is a playmaker first, it seems everyone would put him with hossa and seperate from Hank? I wonder if we would want to have Hank and Datsyuj with Homer on one line and bring someone you can actually build a 2nd line around? Maybe a playmaker that could play with Cleary and not fill in the blanks... seem Hudler hasn't been much of a playmaker yet...

I think you missed my point. I addressed 2 comments in the thread. 1 should they retire his #, which is why I brought up the cups and his past. 2. and the most important do we want him back? As I mentioned he isn't the same player, but for the right price absolutely...

yea I would love to see Fedorov back. One of the main reason I am a big red wings fan was Fedorov and the Russian five. I am still a Wings fan even though only Datsyuk is the main Russian left on the team and the entire russian five is gone. He isn't the same player he used to be, but for the right price any team would take Fedorov in a heartbeat and I think especially Detroit given the fac that he can play with some of his old team mates. Since Fedorov left Wings weren't able to get to cup finals and neither did he really. Not saying he is the only reason, but he always did produce in playoffs... As far as his number being retired, I would imagine he qualifies given 3 cups and all his wings records and being part of the wings dynasty as well as his play off performances... I think people get too emotional about how he departed the team, but when it comes down to stats and results (3 cups) he was one of the biggest contributors.

its not like anyone else who comes close to hasek is even available next year, so might as well. I say healthy bertuzzi would be a major impact next year...

Last time wings ended up in West Finals they were down 3 2 in the series, weren't they? They won away at Denver and then ripped Avs apart at home in game 7... It isn't the same team or the same league, but there are enough wings veterans including Hasek who were at Detroit for that. I am wondering if Wings can repeat...

I have to also add that as much as avery could be prick, he did wonders for the rangers... As far as Shanny goes, good for him. I live in NYC and got a chance to see the rangers versus the wings (wings won woo hoo) this year and fans looove shanny in NY, probably as much as fans loved him in Detroit..... one of my favorite wings ever....

pretty neat article. I would have to say still that Wings is the better team, but it is a very good series since Sharkys aren't rolling over by any means and we might see this go to game 7 easly. If both teams show up anything goes at this point...
