I don't think the kid's condition was known, from what I understand it was a big surprise... most hospitals are will equipped, but the ones you pay for are really good depending on where this is. Didn't sound like this was in Moscow or St. Petersburgh, which is scary
-
Didn't that happen to Jiri Fischer in NHL in Detroit Michigan cleared by American doctors to play with a heart condition? the kid died in KHL because of lack of equipment available at the stadium. In this case there was a team doctor on hand with everything...

from what I read on http://www.atlant-mo.ru/ which is the site of the team Gerber belongs to is that the general manager was disgusted with the opposition's play. He didn't speak directly about Gerber's incident, but he mentioned there were multiple disgusting spearing penalties behind the refs backs... apperently he was referring to the disgusting actions on the ice of Verot Darsy, the only Canadian on Vityaz KHL team. Dude got 511 penalty minutes in 43 games according to Wikipedia.... not much of a scorer even in NHL

Should the Wings Allow Players to Play in the Olympics?
RedArmy replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Stanley Cup and winning a Gold medal are different. NHL is business I would say as much as you can say there is more to it, ultimately it is still a business. Olympic games generate revenues, but there is something about event that goes beyond that. I think for European players to win a cup is the biggest career achievement, but winning gold is to show that European hockey can dominate the #1 hockey country Canada... for hockey fans worldwide NHL teams including wings should allow players to play. Think about it, what would Sweden be without the Wings roster:)? or Russia without Pavel... the best of course for me would be if any non-canadian team takes the gold. Especially Russia or Sweden:) and of course United States although I don't want to hear more about stupid miracle on ice and Kurt Russel... ugh -
happy bert on a good team in a good organization in a hockey city playing on the ice with a playmaker like Pavel Datsyuk... yea he should do well. Let's assume he had to adjust and let's assume breaks weren't going his way (ton of posts hit early on like everyone said) average players usually don't score 2 ot winners in a row and 4 goals in 2 nights, so Bert still has it clearly... Let's hope he can keep going. Honestly do you care if Datsyuk doesn't score much, but has 80 assists and Bert going on a scoring streak?

Who Was the Last Wing to Score Back to Back OT Goals?
RedArmy replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Jamie Macoun... -
happy birthday Feds... still one of my favorite players of all time...
-
best game of the season for bert for sure... the OT goal was a beauty... Hopefully he can get it going a bit more...
-
well for a Russian speaking person, Detroit isn't exactly the best place to live... NYC, NJ, Miami, LA, Chicago and then maybe Boston, Philly, DC much better fit... I don't see how her nagging would impact his play even if she nags, which I doubt. I can see it more being like either we move or I am out. That could really screw him up. I think it is bull s*** though to be honest...
-
just awesome LOL.... yes indeed "strategery"

How big of an impact would Hudler be having on this season's team.

All you can say is you can argue for Brodeur is definitely top 5 of all times especially given the talent he faced in the opposition. Furthermore you can argue Brodeur's career is not even over yet, so he can improve all of his amazing stats already further on... For those say Brodeur just made those stats cause he played long seasons and so many games, you can also argue there is a reason why he did that: that reason is consistency. Roy, Cujo, Belfour and even Hasek didn't really finish their careers in NHL on the highest notes... Let's see what Brodeur will do.
-
nobody is arguing the point that you have to pay for what you did regardless of full intent... The only point was being argued, what is worse a cheap shot behind the back and smashing someone into ice or a 2 hander with a stick across the face or stomping someone with a skate.... I am saying stomping someone with a skate is by far the worst thing you could, even luckily no one got horribly hurt because of that so far...
-
I don't think bert wanted smash moore's face into ice first and break his neck... lol come on... I think he wanted to smack him in the face and get him to fight... Of course Bert is an ass for hitting the guy from the back like that and I am not trying to justify his actions, but Pronger is way more of a goon I think. I think stomping with a skate is the worst thing you can do because it is a razor sharp blade that just guarantees awful results. The stick incidents, if the players did really go after the head or the face are just as fued up...
-
so then do you agree that Bert's should have been #1 goon move? is it because of damage to Moore or because of the cheap shot itself? So if Moore walked away with a concussion and some cuts and came back in a few weeks, would that be as bad as say Pronger trying to stomp someone with a skate? I mean if Pronger's stomp cut someone's artery and the person would bled to death, then would Pronger be #1 because of the result? so is it the intent or the result? I am trying to judge this based on intent not results... I just think stomp with a skate or a swing with a stick across the head is way worse than a cheap shot with your hand across the head...
-
I don't know if you can prove that he grabbed his neck and drove his head first into ice... I mean granted what he did was awful, but I don't think he did what you are saying. It is hard to say what did the massive damage to Moore's neck. Clearly Bert had to pay for it because it was because of him that Moore got hurt so badly, regardless whether Bert did it on purpose or because Moore's team mates piled on top of him, it was in indeed Bert's fault. What I will say is that stomping on someone with a razor sharp skate is way worse or slashing someone across the head with both hands with a hockey stick (the consequences of doing that guarantees a severe injury or death) , giving someone a cheap shot across the head that turned horribly wrong isn't as obvious so I don't think Bert deserved the #1 goon spot
-
the issue I think I have with the list is more about the results of what happened versus the action itself. Like Bertuzzi just wanted to smack steve moore around and I think the guy got badly hurt from falling down on the ice and having all the players on top of him, Obviously Todd deserved the punishiment and it was a really bad thing to do, but I think trying to stomp someone with a skate is waaay worse or slashing someone across the face with a stick like a bat...
-
well in all fairness that might have been true earlier in his carrier, but over the years Devils lost a lot of really good players and even now they aren't the greatest team on paper. Brodeur has been consistent and continues to carry them, so I think when he is done with his career he might be the greatest goal tender to play in NHL.
-
yea that was odd, usually they attack rags or isles... this was kind of unusual... Since they moved to Newark they got "classier" the fans that is:)
-
cause not all all players get offered the money, some do... players aren't declining massive contracts just to stay in North America...
-
devils fans were pissed after the game, since they announced Eaves as the #1 star of the game
-
just got home from the game... well devils fans would chant you suck afte devs would score each goal... shame wings couldn't take it in OT...
-
I am going too... The new Prudential Arena is really nice. Overall Newark is not the nicest area at night, but around the arena its fine. New York fans can be rowdy during playoffs, but I have been to multiple games in my Wings jersey. typically there is just friendly trash talking nothing bad, people are friendly.
