Nice pics PredsFan! Oh, and GEAUX GATORS! So proud of our boys. This past week of hockey was nerve-wracking, stressful, and exhilarating all rolled into one. Next week will be all those emotions magnified x 10. Can't wait! LGRW!!!

Dallas' upcoming schedule is no picnic. They're on a 5 game winning streak, but they face CHI tomorrow then VAN, STL, LA, SJ, CBJ, DET. So those teams minus CBJ (depending on standings at the time) need to beat Dallas to give up some semblance of breathing room, but only if PHX and CBJ drops games along the way. In the meantime, Detroit has to absolutely win at least 4 of their remaining 7 games, if not more. It's possible with their upcoming schedule. They just have to want it bad enough. ... Which pains me to say I'm just not sure how badly they want the playoffs based on their play this year. Guess they'll have to make it a point to shut up the doubters.

Happy Birthday Captain!!

I completely agree with this. I had the exact feeling while reading that particular part of the interview. It's sort of exciting to hear that, to know that they felt the frustration, and that he, as our captain, let the rest of the team know how he felt about their performance.

I just thought I would share this. I've always been amazed at the Wings and their involvement with fans, but this particular situation is something special. Everyone, meet Earl Cook, an inspirational young man who keeps battling. http://www.cbc.ca/thenational/blog/2011/03/theres-something-about-earl.html Enjoy.

Gah. Thanks. I guess I've blocked the severity of last years injuries from my memory.
-
Would be thrilled with at least a point out of this game. Anyone think the injury situation is maybe worse than last year? They're just coming one on top of the other this season.
-
I'm sure the Rangers felt the same at the end of last year's regular season... UGH!

Tie game; Russia really battling to score.

Howard, Stuart, Eaves possible Tuesday against the Oil

Agreed. I would like to see Ozzie play more. Howard's play has been shaky as of late. I can understand getting starts after 'not good' games, but lately Howie has been having too many 'not good' games. He needs to refocus. Give him a little time to work on his game, on a mental and physical level, while Ozzie get some games under his belt. He can handle it. -
Woohoo! Patty with the hatty! Loving it!!

A little article from mlive. Looks like he's staying put. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2010/11/red_wings_chris_chelios_says_h.html

Stamkos just potted his 20th goal to give the Lightning a 2-0 lead over the Bruins.

Iginla is really on the 4th line? Wow. 1-1 Stars vs. Ducks with half of the second period left.

Huh? Guess what? This isn't old time hockey and the fan did nothing to Rypien. Your video gives no rise to the argument that this particular fan deserved what Rypien did to him. He didn't grab at Rypien's equipment or threw a punch at him. He was CLAPPING. Since when is clapping considered an action that deserves a 'professional' (and I use the term loosely) hockey player putting his hands on someone?

Happy Birthday to Henrik Zetterberg, who turns 30 today! Here's to an amazing season!

Wow..thanks so much for posting this. It was a brilliant article. I remember the first time I saw the ice at the Joe this past March, and all I could think about was the events that had happened on that very ice; the Cup raises, especially the '97 one, Fight Night, etc; not to mention remembering the Red Wing greats that had skated/do skate on that very ice. Just amazing.

The Doc Oc was pretty cool, but I"m glad he's sticking with the tach mask. That one is pure awesomeness.

10/3 Pre-season GDT: Pittsburgh Penguins at Red Wings

Ditto... Last year. 3-5 record. Barrie - Nope; out with sore hip flexor. -

I think mindfly was speaking of our 6th D-man. Lids and Rafi are top 4 D-men. But he's right, Ericsson does need to take care of things in his own end. I know that he doesn't have years of experience that our top 4 have, but a lot of people are expecting him to go back to his form that we first saw in the playoffs. And since he hasn't, people are complaining. Maybe he'll morph into a physical D-man whose plays won't give way to 2 on 1's or turnovers in front of the net, but maybe not. He may start the season but that doesn't mean he'll finish it. We can moan and complain and make him the whipping boy of LGW, but we're not the coach/GM, so we'll see what Babs has to say. I do wish him the best though. -

*sighs* That sucks. I traveled around...well, probably close to what you have when I drove to Detroit last year. They won both games, and for that I was very thankful. It would have really bummed me out if I had traveled all that way and they would have lost. I'm planning to go again this year; let's hope they win all 3 games that I'm planning to attend. Oh I know they will. Just frustrating to watch at this point in time. Sorry that they played so bad when you traveled all that way. Can we get Kindl to play with Salei? Ericsson is really making me mad; I've given the kid chances before but this is ridiculous. -

I was just saying this exact thing. I would be so mad if I paid money to go to this game and they were playing like they are. Yes, it's the preseason and it really doesn't count, but bad habits can develop and it's frustrating to watch them play like they don't even care about the outcome.
