This is why holland doesn't like bringing his guys up too early. But he drafts these young guys that are small and either can't or aren't conditioning to get to beast mode like subban. That kid is 24 and he's stout and energetic. Don't see much of that from any of the wings guys. They need to do something about their conditioning. It's not just about speed. The wings did beat them 3 times during the season. Obviously they're not unstoppable. I lay the blame on the coaching in this one. I just don't understand why mike does what he does with the lines when it doesn't work, and why he's so averse to icing a team with an enforcer in the playoffs for a game or two. I just don't get the logic.

Whatever the case may be, he certainly isn't earning his paycheck. I remember when they announced his contract and the length of it how it would likely be a big mistake. And so far it looks to be that way. I mean seriously, a hockey player making that much money going into the tail end of his prime and isn't really zetterberg, datsyuk or Hossa caliber player already just bothers me. Holland has overpaid for quite a few people on this roster, Howard and Ericsson as well. Just wait until those two consistently don't earn their money, and then what? There better be a real shake up this offseason or it will be mediocre hockey for a long time to come. I couldn't even watch most of their games this year because of the poor display of hockey. Holland better shore up the blue line and add some tough hard playing two way wingers or it's bye bye exciting hockey and hello embarrassment.

Honestly Franzen hasn't been the same since he got that big contract. And he even said himself after someone tried to fight him this year that he's scared to get another concussion. Having apprehension to be physical in this game makes him a liability IMO, as well as ineffective. He needs to go along with Weiss, Alfie, Cleary, bertuzzi and Sammy. They can pay for a really good forward or two and a Dman this offseason. Just look at the cap space those guys are wasting. Legwand can go too. He's not that effective either.

Sport has become so pussified. Where are all the men in this game like Mac, Shanny, Kocur, Stevens, Krupp, Hull and all those guys? WTF happened? Hell even Yzerman would take people out when necessary and he was a skill player.
