    What's Kenny Holland's Offseason Plan?

Well, if Nash isn't available, then its back to this: Parise - Datsyuk - Bertuzzi Fillpula - Zetterberg - Franzen Cleary - Arnott - Holmstrom Abdelkader - Helm - Miller Eaves/Holmstrom Lidstrom - White Suter - Kronwall Ericsson - Quincey Smith/Quincey

    What's Kenny Holland's Offseason Plan?

Well if he doesn't go for it then we don't lose anything, if he does then thats on him for over reaching. Again, what would you propose to get Nash?

    What's Kenny Holland's Offseason Plan?

Everything I have read says this years draft isn't that great and hudler is player ready to play now, and is pretty decent. He would help out a team like columbus, edmonton or one of the other bottom feeders that need someone who has been deep in the season. If not a top 5 then a top 10. Its worth a gamble. What would suggest to get Nash without giving up more than one or two starters?

    What's Kenny Holland's Offseason Plan?

Ok, so I have thought about it some more. Here is what Ken does: He goes to the draft, trades Hudlers rights for a top 5 pick from one of the teams. Then he turns around and packages that top pick with a prospect and franzen and trades them for Nash. Then he picks up Arnott and Suter on July 1st. Then our lines look like this: Nash - Datsyuk - Bertuzzi Fillpulla - Zetterberg - Cleary Eaves - Arnott - Holmstrom Abdelkader - Helm - Miller Emmerton/holmstrom Lidstrom - White Kronwall - Suter Ericsson - Quincey Quincey/Smith Thoughts?

    What's Kenny Holland's Offseason Plan?

fixed it I think to get Suter, Holland would have to get Arnott and Parise or similar talent, and drop the dead weight like cleary or hudler, then go to Suter and say heres what we have to done to improve, here is what we want to offer you because we really want you to come play for us because you will help us win a cup.

Bertuzzi - datsyuk - parise Filpulla - Zetterberg - Cleary Holmstrom - Arnott - franzen Abdelkader - Helm - Miller Eaves/holmstrom Lidstrom - white Suter - Kronwall Ericsson - Quincey Smith/Quincey I don't know that the salary cap is breeched by this lineup, but looks pretty good to me

    What's Kenny Holland's Offseason Plan?

This is a good tracker http://www.spotrac.com/free-agents/nhl/ By the looks of available players it seems a good idea that we get parise, suter, and Jason arnott. Arnott is a right hander and doesn't seem to mind floating around the central division and he's a physical presence.

    How do we fix this?

All I can say is, there will be moves made because of the available space, and guys like Helm and Eaves will be back. The ones that can take the pressure off the top guys and wear down the opposition, and of course kill penalties. And anyone who has watched this team for the last 10 years can see that Pavel is obviously not at 100% and hasn't seemed to be for a while. I think he may still even be nursing that wrist injury from last year. If he comes back next year healed up, it will make a difference. I don't see Lids retiring because they are playing the outdoor game in Detroit next year. Should be Lids final season and an appropriate farewell. Have an opportunity to get guys like Suter, Luongo, Parise, and maybe others. Definitely let Huds go. Probably see Holmer retire even though I wish he didn't have to. Cleary may have to compete for a spot since he is perpetually at 50%. Franzen will be told to step up or he will be moved. He may be leading the team in scoring, but thats not saying much. Should be putting more offense on the board, especially this time of year. He just seems like he isn't in as good physical condition as other guys. There just isn't much speed there anymore. Filpulla will need to add playing gritty to his repertoire so he can produce this time of year as well. You have to get to the dirty areas and its no secret Babs preaches this. I will be really happy if they get a guy who will drop the guys and not let the other team get away with disrespectful cheap shots on our talent. There should not even be an argument on that. It has become very obvious that this time of year, its a necessity. If Holland doesn't make at least one of the said changes above, I will be surprised, angry and confused, and like others here, wondering what the hell he is thinking.

    What's Kenny Holland's Offseason Plan?

The first thing that Holland needs to do, and would be a good sign of things to come, is that he decides to get a new flipping haircut and stop walking around like he just stuck his head in a grease gun. All the money in the world and he goes out his house looking like that. What is the deal? If he can figure that out, I will expect better things moving forward.

How about we get a coach the makes adjustments in the game? All I see are guys taking the puck to the outside and shooting from stupid angles. The only one I saw go to the middle was Bert. And why in the hell don't they attack the middle of the slot on the PP when every time they shoot the puck squirts out there. How many times did that need to happen for someone to adjust? And why the hell is pavel getting beat to the puck on an icing? Obviously half this team is beat to s***. If they don't acquire someone to fill that gap they have in the salary cap that is fast and strong and gritty or at least a couple guys that fit that description, then I just don't think they understand why they keep choking in the playoffs.

Darren Helm out for playoffs with lacerated wrist

Hmm, seems to be right, all I can find is this http://www.totalhock...=4803&div_id=41 but from what I can tell the kevlar is only in the neck. they should make a sleeve like these. http://www.hoganhockey.com/products/21 although he could always try this http://www.fibreglas...al_Sleeve_2611/ though I don't know if that is made to be worn on the skin. I have to say though, as someone who plays hockey, it sounds like he just wasn't meant to play. That had to get him just right to cut him up there by Cleary's description. Also I can't imagine how hot you would be covered head to toe in that kind of protection. Its hot enough with the usual set of protection.

Should see Helm and others sporting these next year if they are smart http://www.hoganhockey.com/products/36 side note: I am not an investor, but if I see business picking up I will seriously consider it.

WCQF Game Three GDT : Predators 3 at Red Wings 2

After that ludicrous display today, the lines Tuesday should be Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Nyquist Franzen-Filpulla-Bertuzzi Miller-Emmerton-Hudler Holmstrom-Abdelkader-Sheahan Lidstrom-White Ericsson-Kronwall Stuart-Quincey Cleary is just too slow for this type of play, and if franzen doesn't watch it, he needs to be sat, he is just not competitive for the pace they are playing. This is where missing helm really hurts. And just for those who have been saying that Sheahan is unavailable, (Crymson of course, because he knows all about the game) here is my source. It may not be accurate, but the source nonetheless http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2012204120604

Saw an article on either freep or mlive that they had the option to use Sheehan to fill Helms place. Is that the case?
  18. Here is what really doesn't make sense. The wings gave up a pick AND Sebadtian Piche. The lightning were giving up Steve downie essentially for those 2 assets. I don't pay much attention to Tampa but he is pretty good right? So what gives?

    This year's prospects

So I noticed that its usually about 3-6 years after being drafted that we see the prospects get a chance at the top. Last year we already saw Cory Emmerton, and Jan Mursak, who were drafted in 2006. Will we see Daniel Larsson this year? How about Logan Pyett? How about Brendan Smith or Joakim Andersson? I was just looking back at the 06 and 07 drafts and noticed there were quite a few picks that didn't really make it anywhere or got traded. So these seem to be the only legitimate players. Any thoughts?
