Who else thinks that another positive from this is he would be a safe bet on someone who would know the weaknesses of the sharks?
-
Well there are a LOT of people there from other countries. I see they grasp the concept of speaking the language of his current national origin quite well if he is capable.
-
Personally I was quite offended that he would speak in another language in the States. Why is that necessary?
-
Pretty lame that Winnipeg still doesn't have a logo
-
I dont keep up with the AHL stats like others. Are Anderson and Pyett showing anything?

I really think if Osgood says he is ready they should take his word for it. But this would be his last hoo-ra. I just don't think he wants to go out the way he did last year and wants to prove he can get it done one more time. As for Draper I don't see why he wouldn't be wanted. The guy played most of the season last year and played as hard as the young guys. He scored goals, killed penalties and won faceoffs. Really couldn't see why you would want him to retire. I figure Lids, Oz, Drapes and Holmer have one more year left in em. If Holland were so worried about Emmerton's potential, we would have seen him in more games last season. If you want to remove people, it should be the under achievers like Hudler. He just doesn't seem to work hard enough and expects others to make the plays. Combine that with Modano being gone and Kenny should be able to get it done with Draper and Osgood.

I think the better question is who is the girl on the right in the back?
-
I never really paid much attention to most of the players, but Burrows is pretty much like another player on the Ducks to me now. Diving, taking cheap shots, bitching. Just play the damn game.

All I can say is what if that were Datsyuk on the ice....

The guy made a late hit on another player who didn't know he was stepping up to hit him and he knew it. End of discussion. THAT is what they want out of the game, a guy making a hit to another guy at a high rate of speed that has no idea it is coming. It should be out of respect for the individual that you don't take a shot at him like that. All the people saying good for him keeping old school hockey alive, how about what horton is thinking right now as a human being? Thats a person, and his mind is probably permanently damaged because another guy wanted to keep the old school in hockey. News flash to the old school hockey lovers- the new school technology in equipment and training mixed with the old school physical play is a recipe for people being hurt like this. The players are stronger, faster and more athletic than ever. He could have just slowed up and given him a hey Im here bump, or at the worst, given him an OLD SCHOOL hip check. Why does he need to hit him up high there? At the rate they were both going, a love tap would have put him on his ass. Whether the guy wasn't looking is of no consequence. The fact is Rome WAS looking at him and knew he was unsuspecting. You have to make a decision to be responsible to the other player. As I have always said, bones, muscles, tendons, and joints can heal or be repaired. The brain can't. Look at Probert. Look at Lindros. Look at Boogaard. This is not just about hockey, this about other people's lives. The league needs to let the players know they are taking these injuries seriously. And I think they did there.

Just got this jersey with Rafalskis signature. Just wanted to see if anyone could say for sure if that really is his signature. Any thoughts?
-
Cool. Good to know I got the real deal. I'm actually a bigger Rafalski fan after hearing his speech than before. I was pretty impressed with his play in the olympics too. I really wanted them to win the gold. Instead the worst possible thing happened in that game....
-
That part doesn't sound too promising.

Brian Rafalski announces retirement after 11 NHL seasons

All the others online are knockoffs. You can tell because the blue on the shoulders goes down under the name. I wanted the white one but the blue is good too. Too bad Nike isn't selling these anymore. -

He must have been hanging on by a thread this year. Must be tough as an athlete to know you can't physically do what your mind wants to, or what it did at one time. -

anybody know if the press conference will be on tv -
so if they go to to winnipeg, who moves to the eastern conference to balance the conferences back out? certainly the winnipeg thrashers couldnt still be considered an eastern team.
-
is that really his name?
-
I would go with those. It is well worth the money. I would get them and fly up there for this game if I weren't in Kuwait for 8 more days. Here's to them winning so I can go to a game when I get back.

Frickin beautiful. Man that is great stuff. I think that is the start of wings turn around right there. Momentum is swinging the other way to the motor city.
-
Actually, if you must know.... just kidding. its just a nickname, not like im telling people about my daily ritual or something.
-
I think he feels like the canadiens think they are royalty because of the success of the franchise so long ago. And now they are living off the name instead of earning it. But I'm pretty sure they made it farther last year than the bruins has in a while.
-
Pretty sure he was drunk

They do that way too much on NBC. Depends on who they have on Vs though. I think they are trying way to hard to cater to the casual fan and explain every rule and every back story for every player and even their family. That's why I miss the days of Thorn and Clement. Thorn was brilliant with the play by play and he had the voice for it. And they were both extremely professional no matter who was playing. One of these days I am waiting for Emerik to pull something while shouting one of his signature calls. (Driiiiiiiiivuuuuuuugh!!!! My arm!)
