Just checked out the NHL page on Espn on mobile safari. The headline for the main article is "the Crosby show". While the picture is if Roloson doing his part in the shutout last night and the caption being about the lightning and caps game. They are getting pretty bad over there always riding a particular team or player to get viewers. They do the same thing with Kobe/lakers, tiger woods, Brady/patriots, Yankees/Arod. Half the time you don't even know who is winning or what the scores are. All they do is talk about the popular people like they get paid to advertise for them. Espn has fallen far since they started. Especially since they dropped hockey and all the good reporters left and hired a bunch of former players to ramble about everything. I don't hardly watch it anymore. I just flip to the NHL network.

Who thinks Osgood saw what Larson said about him being done? Think that might have been a good way to light a fire under him? I didn't see the game, I would have thought he should win anyway because of how poor the Devils have been this year. But I am hoping he had a challenge on the ice and just shut it down. Or is that just wishful thinking?

Oh yeah!! Powerful awesome game. It was on tv here in Kuwait just now on the fox channel they have here. Frickin sweet goals by Hank and Pavel. Too bad hudler didn't convert at the end of that long powerplay. This is the first game I've seen this year on something besides the slingbox. They are looking very much like a team ready for the cup finals again. Let's go Red Wings!

How did the third line do?

Negative. I was at this game last time they played in Atlanta. It was packed with southern Wings fans.

Wow. Where to begin. I thought I was pissed when I saw the video. Carman just sunk to a new low. First off, that is not a goal. The whistle blew and the defenseman knocks the goalie into the net along with the puck. No goal. Second, the fact that they said it was a goal is a huge embarrassment to the league. That was such a damn joke. When the ref on the ice says it is not a goal because the whistle was blown should indicate to the league replay guy that he needs to LISTEN to the replay. It was obviously never any question that the puck eventually crossed the line. Holy f*** come on people. Third, the fact that a Pens team is desperate for such a call to go in their favor just shows how far they have fallen this year.

Anybody see what happened to Cleary? It wasn't the shoulder he hurt before was it?

So I was going through some photos showing them to some friends and saw this. Prolly one of the last games they played together. Also my first pro game.

So, I am in the desert, and got here in June. I am planning to be here for at least 330 days, which will be may 18 or so. However I would be glad to stay to the end of june for the extra cash. But, if the wings make the finals, and I believe they will, I will come home to watch the finals in person. However I have never tried to buy tix to the finals. Are they pretty hard to come by? I can guess they are fairly expensive, but that will not be an issue after being here for a year. I will consider it my present to me. Any thoughts?

Sweet, thanks for the info. Sounds like I will be able to see them play for the cup. Because we know they have the team this year, plus Modano just has to go out on top like Drake did. Something to look forward to. Just six more months in the bizarro land of the desert.....

Prolly for the same reason none of us would have his back after a hit like that. His teammates prolly don't like him any more than a lot of fans don't, with him being a as arrogant as he is.

definitely miss the camaraderie and the grit and the fire that those guys had. so much fun to watch. they really had each others backs. I just don't see that in our current roster much. maybe they just know its better to play on and not get caught up in the BS but its a lot of fun to watch and cheer for. I especially liked how Mac handled the light work if someone tried to take a shot at the top guys. It is a completely different era of hockey we are witnessing right now. I have a lot of mixed feelings about it.

How about that Danny Cleary? He is on fire. I have to admit I had my doubts about him after last season. But he seems to be 100% now. Freaking awesome. Go Wings! Whooooo!!!

I am watching the replay of the last Oilers game and the Wings went shorthanded and the Joe played a song when it happened, and I just got a piece of it, but I definitely remember it from the Alt rock days. The part I heard was "don't bring me down, bring me down". Anyone know what song that is or who sings it?

no, its not the ELO song, its a harder rock song, more alternative rock, and when it says bring me down the second time, he says " dooww ooww ooowwwwnn" man I wish i could remember it.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Eddie. That guy is the biggest hawks sucker ever. And he has nothing else to say besides "forehand backhand, amazing goal". Yes Eddie of course he switched sides of the blade. That's how you deke. He's an ass clown. I miss watching OT playoff hockey with Gary Thorne. I really like how he could make everything sound so important. no play could be taken lightly.
