There have been a lot of discussions here about former wings getting more production on their new teams. We all knew guys like Leino, Kopecky, and especially Samuelson were good players. So I have to wonder if maybe the coaching staff on the Wings bench are too bent on forcing good players into playing a style of game they are just not quite comfortable with. I would think you have to let a guy go out play to his strengths to produce more. Its true playing responsible and getting on defense is important. But there are times when you should throw caution to the wind and fly down the ice and get the puck to the net. I see leino getting way more chances now. It can be argued that he is playing with different people etc. but it just seems he has a little more say in to how he plays his game. Look at Samuelson, he put up a ton of points this post season. He was clutch for us last year at times, but nothing like this year. I just think the coaches need to look at what they can do to improve their instruction on how the Xs and Os go.

you guys must clearly be forgetting one of the recent canucks logos. what does a whale have to do with canadians? and i think the best logo in the league as far as concept goes to the wild. i have liked it since the franchise began. kudos to that designer.

After seeing that new one where "there are no words", it has to be pretty obvious how winning the cup can't be expressed. You have guys like Brett Hull who never run out of things to say, and Chris Osgood who is never without a smart remark, speechless. And the most telltale, a guy like McCarty, so hardcore and having won it all before that interview can't hold back the emotion. THAT was a good ad. great concept.

s***ty commercial for a s***ty matchup. good job with the anti-climatic end to what started off as a good buildup for the post season. that goes for the teams left standing too. ******* flyers.....

Really cool man, 100% jealous. Lidstrom seems like a great person in his interviews and his professionalism and sportsmanship on the ice. Lucky guy man, I hope he does come back one more year and takes the wings back to the finals one more time. Everyone should be healthy and hopefully there aren't any freak injuries like last year. Would be great to see him go out with the cup in his hand.

I like how this year they start the finals 5 days after the last game of the CF but last year they only gave them two days. Awesome, sounds fair to me.

The team won't change much. I can see there being one other addition to the team besides hudler, unless they let bert go too. But imagine it though, Hudler, Eaves and helm on a line. Helm would be the perfect setup for hudler. We all know helm isn't a finisher, but he can feed Jiri all day. Williams definitely won't be back. And if anyone wants to question anything, it should be Babcock not going to the Datsyuk, Z, Flip line in the third period to try to win that game. Its your season on the line, you should throw everything at it right? And putting williams in the game instead of meech. Meech has bombed a couple from that blue line to surprise a goalie the past season, I think he does a better job in that situation than jason does. And why in the hell did he continue to play erricson instead of lebda? John was beat to the puck and out of position at least once on every shift that almost cost them a goal and chances to exit the zone. how is it ok to keep him in? I know he could see it, hes a great coach. Did lebda s*** in his wheaties? Ericson was coughing the puck up in the corners left and right. And taking penalties for being slow and out of position. I can't believe he would accept that but keep him out there just because of his size. I think if the coach can single out players, someone should single out the coach. Im not saying he is terrible, just saying he can be better too if he can say that about the players.

Anyone else see Ericson get beat around the outside time after time last night? How about being to slow to the puck or his man that he is out of position and they have to take a penalty to prevent a possible goal? I'm not sure of the weak points in Lebdas game, but I know he isn't that slow.

Yeah I was thinking about it when it was over, and it was almost anti-climactic the way the announcers reacted. I would expect a LOT more enthusiasm for a goal scored in a THIRD overtime. Gary Thorne would have been going bonkers.

all i know is if the avs end up beating the sharks i already have one made i just have to export it.

Avey. nuff said. As much as sidney crosby can break his leg again in the playoffs like when franzen did it last year, I would have to go with avery. that guy is a piece of s*** and Im petty sure hes a queeah. so double hate for that guy.

Anybody watching Modano's last game in Dallas? He is in on both goals in the game including tying the game with a minute and a half to go and now in the shootout scores a wicked wrister. Credit where credit is due. An American classic there. I hope he comes back for one more so he can at least finish his last season in the postseason. They gave him a three minute ovation with 5 minutes to go in the period and the Stars win it. Will go down in history if it is his last game.

I really don't think those are "officially" from the NHL. I think they may be from the red wings though. you can tell it was not done by the same people by looking at the font. I did like the lighting effect though.

Thanks, I wish I had the angles they had, but it will do. I just didn't care for the caption on theirs, it seems like they are getting away from the original concept with that and Messiers ad. I'm glad you liked it, I don't know how many people edit video, but it takes some time to do all the tweaks, especially the way they are doing it in their ads with the change of speed and lining up the frames going from one angle to the next like I did in the Datsyuk goal in the winter classic. I also had to find a plugin to get the aged film look like they have.
