Please. I agree as much as the next guy that there needs to be some changes, but this kind of post is the exact reason why fans of other teams have a strong dislike towards our fans. It's this sense of entitlement that we seem to have that allows us to puff our chests out and walk around like we're expected to win it every year. I for one am grateful I've been able to see 4 Stanley Cups raised by this team in my lifetime, which is more than most fans of most teams will be able to say in their lifetimes, and I was 20 years old when they lifted it last. That's 4 Cups in a QUARTER of my life. I don't want to see this team slip into the dark ages again, and there's a damn good chance that won't happen again for a very long time, if ever, but we need to stop acting like we are the only team in the world that gets to makes decisions to get players. We must remember that realistically, there will be 29 other teams looking for at least one of the players we're looking for as well, and we can't sign them all. All that said, I would really like to see Holland make a big push to get Parise and Suter because I think they are necessary to make a serious effort at extending our playoff streak and to possibly push for another Cup. But I am a realist when it comes down to it and I know that there's probably a high probability that we're going to be SOL.

I said it before, I'll say it again. I find your lack of faith disturbing. Especially because I can probably safely assume that you've seen them win the Cup 4 times in your lifetime. Just for a little bit of comparison, my dad was born in 1963, so in his lifetime, the Red Wings have won 4 Stanley Cups. Now, if you know anything about the Red Wings, you know that before they won in 1997, they hadn't won the Cup in 42 YEARS. Combine that with the 1967-1983 era where they made the playoffs only twice, and you can easily see that since my dad was 4 when that s*** started, he essentially grew up rooting for a ******* god awful hockey team until 4 years before I was born and they still didn't win it until I was 9. I have absolutely no sympathy for you.

I will agree with you that the Wings didn't perform as well as they could have, but with that said, you just completely disproved your point at the end of your post. The Wings were the better team that year. Bottom line, they were better. The Penguins won because they wanted it more and they showed it in Game 7. And as far as "deserving" to be there, sure, you probably did at the time. But even to be there because there was a CHANCE that you'd get to see the Wings hoist the Cup instead of the Penguins...the fact that your belief still stands even after considering that, is pretty bad. You didn't know going into the game what was going to happen at the end of the night, and unfortunately, you came out disappointed. The saddest thing in this situation is that it completely changed your perspective on the team you claim to be a fan of. I find your lack of faith disturbing.

I think you're looking at this all wrong. Shanahan suspends Weber: The Predators play harder and probably win Game 2 because of adrenaline that their Captain is out. Shanahan only fines Weber: The Wings call bulls*** and go out and play even harder. All part of the plan.

I am 100% in on this. I try to get to a playoff game every year and it usually falls through, but my buddy got drunk last night and ordered a set of 4 tickets off of StubHub (thank you whoever has season seats in 203A, row 16) and I'm going. I agree though, we definitely need some chants. I don't know what was up with the fans last night in Nashville but they seemed like they had some pretty well organized ones. Either that or the fans were pretty into it and were able to catch on quickly after a smaller section started one.
