I never thought about that Crosby raising the Cup in our arena could (potentially) be the last time a Cup is raised in the Joe. That makes me cringe a little. That said, let's face it, the Joe is old. The Wings are going to get a new arena eventually. It's not even a "maybe" thing. It's going to happen. Probably within the next 10 years too, which if you think about it, is a very long time. The points that the thread starter made though are absolutely valid, imo. New s*** until then could make a little bit of a difference. Have any of you guys gotten an email from the Wings about their appreciation for you coming to their games? That's what they've got to sell seats? Not going to happen. But it's not just the Wings that cant sell seats. It's the whole NHL, especially if that team isn't doing so hot. It's the lack of media about the NHL in general. People don't care about it because the NHL gets the scraps in terms of media. Even during the playoffs, you can look at ESPN for a prime example. Sportscenter will show the goals, maybe a couple of good saves, and then say who won, by what score, and then if you're lucky (and trust me, I shudder thinking what I'm about to finish typing) you'll get Barry Melrose's analysis on the series thus far. The NHL is a struggling market, and it shows in attendance numbers all around the league.

I agree with this. I feel like if Helm had someone to set him up more often, he'd get more chances to shoot the puck on net, which could easily lead to scoring. Spark him, you spark Datsyuk's confidence, you spark Zetterberg's consistency, and you spark the rest of the team's morale.

The fact that he brought up what Babs said makes this thread somewhat valid. The fact that he brought up what is brought up every time we lose makes this thread pointless. Is anyone else happy with our play despite all the injuries? Someone said it in another thread, we essentially have a whole 2nd line plus a defensive pairing out of the lineup. We beat the Rangers on Sunday, and handled them quite well, I might add. We got a point on the Devils by tying late in the 3rd. I don't get why we can't beat the Blues, but that's just something we'll figure out. Worrying and bitching about how we "suck" is really loyal. Have a little faith and maybe you won't think this season is lost.
