I really wanted to post a "don't feed the troll" image, but after this one, I fear you're legitimately serious and I have to spell something out for you. You can be a homer if you want to. That's totally your call. You can also be a negative fair weather fan that is no better than Chicago fans when the Blackhawks were suddenly in position to be good and win their first Stanley Cup. So what if you think they're not going to take it all this year? You're not alone. But the least you can do is support your team until the end if you really believe you're an actual fan. That's what I would do at least. As a result, I have a right to tell you that if you aren't willing to watch the games on TV or in person then you aren't a real fan anyway. Because quite frankly, it might have killed me to see what you saw in 2009, but I would have done a lot of things to be there, and it sounds like to me you didn't deserve to be there in the first place.

Shea Weber fined for Zetterberg "headslam"
lookalive07 replied to Manny>Ozzie(by a long shot)'s topic in General
Zetterberg looked like he was fine overall, but that shouldn't be the judge in the end. Milbury and Jones just reported on it saying they don't think that Weber will be suspended, but they both thought it probably should have been suspendable. -

WCQF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Predators 3
lookalive07 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Wow, okay, this is pretty rough. They're calling this game way too tight when half of the penalties they've given were not warranted. Yip may have gotten an elbow up, but that's pretty tame. Franzen's was definitely a make up call. Not sure what they were thinking on Abdelkader's penalty though. -
WCQF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Predators 3

Personally, I saw that interference a mile away. -
Marian Hossa - 29G, 48A, 77pts in 81GP this season. Meanwhile: Johan Franzen - 29G, 27A, 56pts in 77GP this season. Franzen usually shows up in the playoffs though, so I guess we'll see yet again what was the better choice.

Seriously, send Kindl down, bring Smith back up.
-
Holy s*** Bertuzzi I love you.
-
f*** YEAH FRANZEN. THAT'S THE s*** YOU NEEDED TO BE DOING ALL YEAR.
-
Yup, just give away that last minute of the power play.
-
Annnndddd of course Hudler gets pushed down like he's a ******* mini-mite.
-
WHY is Kindl on the power play, and why the f*** hasn't Babcock called a timeout?
-
Stuie looked okay coming up after being down. Hopefully I'm right.

Good Guy Jakub Kindl: Pads your shot block stats Shoots it directly at you.
-
He's got that drive that this team needs. He needs to stay.
-
I really like Nyquist tonight. He's playing like he's got a mancrush on Pavel and wants to be his linemate for eternity.
-
Jesus, Datsyuk is out of his damn mind. And I love it.

Did some critical thinking about this Pacific Division madness: The Sharks have two home and homes with both Dallas and LA remaining. 8 total points possible. If the Sharks win all four of those games, they will have 96 points. This also means that the most both the Kings and the Stars could get in each of their last 5 is 8 points each: with Dallas beating Vancouver, losing in OT/SO in the home and homes, and beating Nashville and St. Louis - 8 Points with LA beating Edmonton, Minnesota, Edmonton, then losing in OT/SO in the home and homes - 8 points Now, the first tiebreaker (apparently) is the ROW. Dallas currently has 35. If the above scenario happens, they will have between 35 and 38. Similarly, LA has 32, with the possibility of 32-35. SJS can attain 35 at most. Meaning if all three teams are tied at the end of the season and everything happens like I said above, they better hope one of Dallas or LA beat one of those teams in a shootout. Of course, if the Sharks win all four of those games and at least one in regulation, they're pretty much in, if everything I've determined is correct.

I hope the BJs don't start gooning it up because we're ahead by so much. I'd hate to see someone get injured because they're frustrated.

Lol, Columbus has had less than a 1% chance of making the playoffs since November...
-
Came here to say this. Franzen is a good player and all, but I'd like him to play a little more clutch like he totally knows how. It seems like almost every time he scores, it's either when we're so far ahead that there's no chance of a comeback by the other team, or the exact opposite. I can't remember the last time he had a goal that turned a game around or put a game away.

Anyone else hear the clearly drunk guy in the stands yelling "Howard" all by himself?

If you Could Change Five Outcomes in Hockey History
lookalive07 replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
I don't think I could list five, but I will say I'd have liked the Pittsburgh/Carolina series in 2009 to go more than 4 games. Even though the Wings took the first two games of the series, Pittsburgh had a longer break because of the sweep, and it probably gave them more gas in the tank to do what we all know they ended up doing (I won't reiterate that story). -
Slowest or greatest? I think they're pretty interchangeable in this case.

Holy crap, #67 on the Habs has some serious eyebrows.
