"We feel good with the people we have," Holland said

I'd like to call Kenny and tell him to get the f*** on Doughty. Please and thank you.

Lmao Florida might actually be okay this year?
-
Because Holland hasn't made a move on what we actually need: defense. /thread

Saw on Sportscenter this morning that Jagr signed with the Penguins for 1 year/$2M. But that's ESPN, so who knows how credible that is.

Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI, then traded to Buffalo

I'd have to hope that Holland can pry either Ehrhoff or Wizniewski away from NYI and CBJ respectively and find someone else to solidify our D. IMO we got hit the worst out of any team this year in terms of Defense when Rafalski retired and I kind of expected Holland to make some moves, and aggressive ones at that. Nothing so far, and that scares me. -
Lets think COMPLETELY outside of the box for one minute...

Was the OP asking a serious question? I missed it if it was. -
My girlfriend bought me a replica Zetterberg jersey from NHL.com two Christmases ago and ordered it with the "A". When it came (which was also after they f***ed up the order the first time, canceled it, and then never notified her, so she had to order it twice), it came without the "A" and the letters and numbers were falling off the back because they weren't stitched on. The letters were also on a nameplate, which I didn't want. I ended up getting one from Hockeytown Authentics instead, but I think my next one will be from SportsK.

Good points. I felt a little weird putting Montreal in that division, but it felt fun to have 4 O6 teams in one division Although 3 and 3 looks better.
-
Yeah, there's no way really to make everything completely 100% fair, but the North/South format at least keeps most of what was the West intact (keeping two out of the three divisions completely intact and placing one each in the North/South conferences) where those teams have to travel much further for interdivision play than teams in the East ever have to.
-
There's still a possibility of a Northern/Southern Conference setup. Adopting the 6 division setup, most of the divisions remain intact while some get a swap of a few teams. Both conferences travel from coast to coast. Northern Conference: Northwest: Vancouver Calgary Edmonton Winnipeg Minnesota Midwest: Chicago Detroit Toronto Ottawa Montreal Northeast: Buffalo Boston New York Rangers New York Islanders New Jersey Southern Conference: Southwest: San Jose Anaheim Los Angeles Phoenix Colorado Southeast: Dallas Florida Tampa Bay St. Louis Nashville Atlantic: Carolina Washington Columbus Pittsburgh Philadelphia My favorite part about this setup is that all of the Original Six teams are in one conference.

Now that the Penguins and Flyers have gotten and will get 2 Winter Classics, I have no shame in saying that I wouldn't mind seeing the Wings play in a 2nd one. If it's all about marketing, they might as well pick one of the biggest national fanbases in hockey.
-
I hope not. This league doesn't need more s***ty 3rd jersey designs. I'm thinking the NP logo will be the shoulder patch on one of either the home or away jerseys and the guitar pick being the shoulder patch on the other. Speaking of which, I'd like to see the Wings adopt a shoulder patch. The old Detroit Cougars/Winter Classic D would be cool.

Props to the design team. That's how you do a rebranding. Subtle changes and much better than the almost forward facing sabretooth that looks half retarded.

NHL local ratings for game 1-Nashiville tied for 7th

The Lions and Tigers schedules never overlap in 2011 if you don't consider the playoffs for the Tigers. Even then, the Lions play Monday 10/10, Sunday 10/16, and Sunday 10/23, so the chance that they would overlap is 3/31. Since the NHL schedule isn't release yet, I will assume it will start on 10/6 this year, and that the Red Wings will likely play 8-9 games in October, with between 4 and 6 of them at home. Last season, none of the games in October were played on Sunday. So I'd say the likelyhood of the Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings playing all on the same day is pretty slim. Plausible, but very slim. I'd love to see that area expanded as a sports mecca if they could make the parking work, especially considering the city of Detroit really needs a new arena for the Red Wings. The Wings are the most dominant of the major 4 sports teams in Detroit and a new arena could provide a small spark to an upswing of the city of Detroit. Edit: all this talk really makes me wish I had pursued Architecture.

Skim milk is delicious. Also: #HatingOnDatsyukIsLike paying Brett Lebda $1.45M/yr.

Yeah the confetti was over the top, but hey, they have to satisfy their overdramatic rabid fans somehow, right? They probably thought it was snowing happiness and rainbows. Oh, and they also just won the Stanley Cup. Didn't you guys know? They're just calling the playoffs off after this and giving Vancouver the Cup so the celebration wasn't for nothing.

That was just bizarre. Leave it to the Canucks to get some weird ass dumb luck.

Holy s***. San Jose is really pulling a Plaxico right now.

I was referring to the neg I got. Quoting myself was only so anyone confused could refer to my post to see the neg. However, I can see why it was confusing...I didn't really mention it in the first place. Edit: looking at my original post, things get even more dicey as I now no longer have a neg. Carry on.
-
Lol, I wonder who that was from?
-
Hooray! A Blueadams line thread and we can finally neg again!
