Mutual shake up for Wings and Bruins. Ericsson for Johnny Boychuk. Comparable players, change of scenery and a fresh start. Gives Detroit a big right hand shot. A somewhat lateral move for both clubs, but sends a message to other players on both teams. -
Dan Ellis is a perfect goaltender to compare Howard to, unlike Miller. Their rookie seasons are almost identical, except Ellis had 6 shutouts while Howard has managed 1. Both guys are strong on perimeter shots, but not exactly stars on second chances. Look every1, Ryan Miller stops 81.6% of rebounds.....Jimmy Howard stops 69.4%. That is technique, and athleticism. These are real stats, btw....I'm not bs'ing you. There is no comparison to Ryan Miller. Howard is 6'0" 218, Miller 6'2" 175....figure it out. Just a shame we took Jari Tolsa while Miller was still available in the '99 draft. Atleast we made up for it with Z in round 7, otherwise it would be the worst draft ever.

Halak would be the best goaltender in Detroit, so it would be a good move to make him the starter. Better to wait and see if DRW can sign Hiller or Rinne in the offseason. Schneider or Salak would be worth a look, too.

he thought Lebda was going to bail him out like he did on the previous shift(get your pvr's ready), of course that kind of thing doesn't happen more than once a game, if not season. Howard isn't the type of goalie who recovers and makes desperation saves, he is the type who commits his life to the puck carrier, plays the shot, and relies on the team to disrupt any and all passes while he takes his sweet time to get off his arse. Whatever works I guess.

I don't think they have any more brothers. Jared is a RW for Sudbury, of course Eric is a LW and Jordan a C so they can put together a decent line atleast. i guess mark was the odd man out thats and thats why he got stuck on d.

That site has been wrong before, I don't really trust it. I'd bet on these lines. Vinny Prospal Artem Anisimov Marian Gaborik Sean Avery Chris Drury Ryan Callahan Christopher Higgins Erik Christensen Ales Kotalik Enver Lisin Brian Boyle P.A. Parenteau _ Marc Staal Michal Rozsival Michael Del Zotto Dan Girardi Ilkka Heikkinen Matt Gilroy

Howard with a shutout? Reaching a bit. 6-4 Gaborik (2), Higgins, Avery

Too much money, though he is a great shot blocker. I'd rather pursue Nick Boynton.

#1 UFA to pursue--> Pekka Rinne.
