he sucked anyways. from signing kovalev to trading away huet while he was still good, signing gomez over the koivu, even though koivu was the heart and soul of the habs., and firing carbs, when he should've fired himself (it sounds better then steeping down).

franzen's return will not only put a 40 goal scorer in the line up, but it will give zetterberg or datsyuk a lot more room. So he will make others better around him, because teams just can't let him run loose. He won't make Detroit better in every category, but the offense will see a very noticeable spike. -
lids destroys phaneuf in every important category. The only "real" advantage phaneuf gets is in fight. lids doesn't need to hit because he can simply take the puck away.

How does IR and cap hit work? Doesn't putting players on IR lessen the cap burden? If so the Red Wings would have the most reduced cap hit, since about 28 players were out of the line up at one point. Anyways, I wouldn't mind it, but it does seem to hurt the progress of younger players, for another older player.
