He was great against everyone last year. This year...not so much. -
The 02 team obviously was better on paper and had a better regular season but in the playoffs i don't know. Personally i don't think the 02 was so invincible like some people make it out to be. They weren't breaking records or annihilating every team they came across in the playoffs. Some of those series were to close for comfort.

I would say Philly wins the trade until Toronto gets something good in return with those picks.

The 3rd is a crapshoot anyway but a late 1st isn't a guaranteed good player either. Doesn't help that this years draft is projected to be the worst in like 30s years or something like that.

wow Philly is going to be scary. If they weren't cup favorites before hand they defiantly are now assuming they go into the playoffs healthy. That's really not much of a overpayment either(if any) imo. Hes young and is a proven 20 goal+ player with solid playoff numbers.

Must be a mistake. As hard as i try i cant imagine Nick getting in a fight. Giving someone the smelly glove would be a heinous crime by Nicks standards. It would be equivalent to Bertuzzi's outburst that broke Moores neck. -
Their logic was it was Karma for Franzen's supposedly intentional knee on knee hit with Crosby in game seven. He sprained his knee. Tearing a knee ligament let alone 2 is a huge deal for a pro athlete. There is no guarantee you will make a full recovery from a injury like that. The knee will also be more vulnerable to future injuries/complications. Its not like breaking a bone and you can just wait for it to heal then away you go like nothing happened.

The fight against Kane has nothing to due with the instigator rule. They both fought voluntarily. Without the instigator rule players used to be able to get vigilante justice like this.

Yeah i remember all the pens fans going DERP DERP KARMA!!! when Franzen tore his ACL and then again after the Orpik incident. That being said Franzen was extremely fortune to rehab that fast. Its unheard of to recover that fast from a torn ACL. Injuries like this have good potential to be career altering. If i was a Pens fan i would be s***ting my pants.
