I just listened to an audio clip from Kenny Holland from today from MLive. He said it is not definite that Bertuzzi won't play tomorrow -- he hasn't felt good since the weekend, but he felt better today than yesterday. Tomorrow's practice will be the crucial decision as to whether or not Bert will paly tomorrow night. MLive (Click on the link that says, "WDFN: Ken Holland." BTW, I just found out I'm going to be at the game toorrow night!!!!!!! I am soooooooooooo excited, I can't wait!! GO WINGS!!!!!!

The game is on Sunday because NBC had a time slot to fill at 1:00 p.m and they wanted the Wings game, so the schedule was built around that. Totally stupid, but true.

If what you way is true, Wings_Dynasty, about making up injuries to fill roster spots and call up players, then I feel slightly better. It would just be the Wings luck to have the gritty big boys on the other team take advantage of our injured players. Come to think of it, if memory serves me correctly, in past seasons being this close to playoffs, we didn't actually know about any injuries (except when we saw the guy go down and out during a game) and no one really knew who was injured and who was not. That seems to be different this year and doesn't help the optimism!

Ditto! I don't mean to be pessimistic, but the Wings haven't shown me anything to reassure me that they can win this series. With Lidstrom, Hasek, Zetterberg and Bertuzzi not all at 100%, not to mention, Schneids (elbow), Chelios's 'upper body injury,' I am damn scared. I truly hope the Wings can win this series, but I have strong, serious doubts. Honestly, I can sick with emotion in just thinking about another first-round playoff exit. It's not even embarassing anymore, it's expected. On the otherhand, we do have Hasek in net and that gives me some hope. I don't even want to think about Datsyuk not showing up AGAIN (man, they should have waited to have him sign that contract, now he doesn't have to prove anything!!!) I hope the Wings find the hunger and run with it, but I think they will be outworked worn down by Calgary.

As an afterthought, we all can call the 'hit' stupidity.' It is not an excuse, it's how things transpired, on purpose or accidentially. Who are we to judge him? Hasn't he paid the price for this already? Do any one of us know his mind? I agree with everyone on this board who is saying, give him a chance. Cheer him on because if not, I'm sure it will affect his performance. Do we want to see the qualities from him that we know to expect? Or do we want to see him wimp around the ice? Let's be glad Kenny got someone this team desperately needed and enjoy it. Quit looking for excuses to not like him and not accept him. If you don't like him, then don't watch the games. Bertuzzi is a human being and he deserves a second chance!!!!

Have you ever hurt anyone physically? Whether or not it was on purpose, didn't you feel bad that it happened? I'm sure Bertuzzi felt horrible, as a matter of fact, I know he did because I remember the interviews with him and he was besides himself!!!!!! That means that he has a conscience, which tells me he didn't mean to injure Moore, it was a terrible accident. Obviously, Bertuzzi didn't mean to hurt Moore the way that it happened. I'm sure he didn't go out to severely injure the guy. Why is it that no one can acknowledge that after the initial punch to the side of the face by Bertuzzi and they both fell down, why can't anyone acknowledge the number of other players who literally jumped on top of both of them? I am sure this is what caused the 'injury' to Moore, not Bertuzzi alone. Since Bertuzzi accepted the blame for the entier incident, served his punishment, I'm sure he was damn scared to TOCUH anyone else for fear of getting in more trouble! Wouldn't you be? Some years have passed since then. I hope everyone will let it alone and leave it where it belongs -- in the past. I can't wait to hear the cheers for Bertuzzi once he steps onto our ice for the very first time!!!!!!! That alone will help him get back to being he player we are all expecting. GO BERT!!!!! GO WINGS!!!!!

I for one am glad Bert is a Wing!!! OMG, I remember those games where Cheli did everything in his power to hold Bert off. He is definitely what the Wings need!!! As far as the naysayers who are judging his hit on Steve Moore -- everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but IMHO, from watching the hit over and over again, okay. Yes, he did punch Moore and knock him down, BUT, Moore got hurt NOT from falling down after Bertuzzi's punch to the side of his face/head, but when everyone else jumped on top of Moore and Bertuzzi when they were both down on the ice. This hit was no different then when McCarty took care of Lemieux in retribution for the Draper hit, yet Lemieux got no punishment from the league nor the general public. I think it's unfair for everyone to sit and judge Bertuzzi now, after three years. He has paid the price for this over and over again, why should it continue? I think we all need to back off and welcome him with open arms and lots of cheers when he hits our ice!!! WELCOME BERT! GLAD YOU'RE HERE!!!!!! GO WINGS!!!!!

hahaha -- I know it's not funny because I said the exact same thing. But all I can do is laugh. I guess it's better than crying. From his stats, Calder is no better or worse than Williams. I don't understand why the deal was even made????

I'm excited, too, but I'm kind of afraid because the news came from Eklund, and we all know how 'reliable' he is. But, we can always hope!!!!!

If the price is right, I wouldn't mind having both of them come to the Wings. I don't know if it's wishful thinking, or not. whatever! We need someone to take care of the hits put upon Zetterberg and Datsyuk come playoff time. That way they can have the ice cleared to continue their play!
