Detroit Red Wings is a very storied franchise. Much is made of being an Original 6 team, 3rd all time in SC Championships, but that's not what this is about. This thread is about how DRW players have helped change the game off the ice. Attached are 2 links to articles regarding 2 of our greatest alumnus and how they changed the face of the game we love. I know for a fact that Gordie and Colleen have done more than mentioned in the piece. Are there any other examples that you can think of? Or even examples of Wing's invovement with with junior sports? Pro athletes get a bad image due to a few high profile dirtbags. I would love to submit an article of the positive contributions made by our favorite team to ESPN, FOXSPORTS, hell, all of the major sports publications and see if one would actually publish something positive. I have professed in other threads my deep faith in Kenny and gang. I never doubt the decisions they make and am happy for it. E just might prove a lot of people here wrong in the future.
