Do you realize that 3 of the 5 Russian 5 players have been involved in catostrophic car wrecks? Kozlov was in a wreck back in Russia where i believe his best friend was killed, then Vladdy and Papa Bear along with Mnatskanov. Maybe these 5 players had (have) such great long careers (save for Vladdy) because of their appreciation for life which drives their conditioning. As far as the topic goes, I would LOVE to see Slava back here. He is our last chance to see 1 of the 5 play in our sweater.

It is turning ugly. The Svedes made a mistake, huge mistake, and are pointing their fingers our way. Doc Clancy has performed hundreds of these surgeries with a 3 month turn around yet the Svedes are blaming our organization for bringing Mule back too soon because they omited him from their Olympic roster because of his injury. Several teams have pics that when you see them you automatically think of that team. Boston has Bobby Orr and The Goal, what should other teams have? For example, should Detroit have Stevie raising his 1st Cup, Lindsay and the shotgun, Vladdy in the wheelchair, the Russian 5 all skating to the net at once? Should Colorado have Ray Bourque lifting the cup or Lemieux executing the turtle? What picture comes to mind when you think of a specific team? This could be fun.

I would love to see Wings v Leafs be as big if not bigger that Wings v Avs in the 90's. Again. Original 6 as the biggest rivalry in the NHL.
