I think Wings fans have a hard enough time getting Octopi onto the ice as it is...
-
They have Amway.
-
Two minutes for not allowing a Blues goal.
-
Tank for 6th!
-
Yup.
-
What's the argument here? You don't get suspended for not having your jersey tied down.
-
And Komisarek is a tool.
-
Not if you understand the spirit of the rule it doesn't. Scott Walker suckered Aaron Ward (oh memories!) and took an instigator penalty during the 2009 Eastern Semi Finals and his suspension was also rescinded. He was only fined for the sucker punch. Do you think Scott Walker was a "skill" player that year? If that was the case Zetterberg would have also been suspended.
-
For the upteenth time: Malkin wasn't the only one who's suspension based on that rule was rescinded. He wasn't out there to send a message and the suspension wasn't necessary in that case. jroc: Who said it was Crosby's victory and no one elses? Malkin won the Conn Smythe, everyone celebrated with the cup, Talbot was praised for his two goals in that series as well as other players throughout (including Staal's shorthanded goal in game 4). Better get out your torch and pitchforks, it's a Wings fan defending Crysby. Shaman: I haven't seen any evidence that Crosby gets preferential treatment from the league compared to everyone else. Guess what? Star players, liked or not, tend to get the benefit of the doubt over lower players. It isn't just Crosby.
-
When does Crosby start fights he can't finish? No idea where you get this from. Crosby isn't the only star in the league to dive. Crosby isn't the only star in the league to ***** and moan to the media.
-
Elaborate.
-
Win win. Kopecky gets justice and we get rid of Quincey for a couple games.
-
Stuart got hooked by virtue of his stick just getting lifted. Weak penalty, but the movement was there to indicate a hooking call.
-
Love it.

Just showing you that even people who understand the game can find it dull and boring. Thought I made that perfectly clear.
-
Campbell's contract was far worse and they were able to ship it out. The Rangers were able to ship Scott Gomez to Montreal. If people honestly think Franzen has no value to any team in a trade, they are terribly undervaluing Franzen and his value to other GMs in the league. You won't get a star out of him, but you can get well-off serviceable players who can help make this team better.

I played baseball and find the games at the Major League level to be the most boring off all North American sports. Come at me.
-
In the words of one of Detroit's hilarious hobos: "All the way to the Stanley CUP!"
-
At least Franzen can produce. Is it just me, or is Franzen normally the reason we lose hockey games nowadays? Good news about seeing that game in person: I got a free green hat (Sponsored and everything, WHOA!), some stickers of Filppula, and got to wave at Larry Murphy in a backpack. Other than that, pretty lame.

Detroit was able to keep the score close through most of the 2nd, but they simply couldn't make the same plays tonight that Nashville did. That is an issue of execution, and while I understand where Babcock is coming from, they needed to execute. They simply didn't tonight. That third goal was an example of poor play in the defensive zone during the entire game.
-
We did do that. Monday.
-
I can't imagine a scenario where Philly would deal Wayne Simmonds for Johan Franzen.
-
Babcock can have an opinion when he starts making coaching decisions that will help the team. I.E. putting Nyquist on the ice for more than 5 minutes during a game and keeping guys like Cleary and Abdelkader off the ice during overtime.
-
I'm glad I'm not the only one to think the OP wasn't off his rocker.
-
But we have a potential 40 goal scorer that can be readily available for the right price this very offseason. Why would you not even want to try for a player who's talent can make the players around him better?
