I think that's a given. Howard is one of the better goaltenders in the league this year and Osgood is an oldie who hasn't played in months. But you know what, I think we should give Osgood a chance!

I can't believe someone actualy +1'd this post. Franzen, who hasn't gotten more than 60 points in his career, is better than a player who has had multiple 100 point seasons, a Hart, and is currently leading the NHL in goals?

Like I said before, if he had played lights out at the start it would have definitely boded well for him despite his games started, but he was still a huge question mark up until late November. And it helped Thomas that he had virtually no competition that year. Howard has Bryz and Miller to fend off. Not to mention Brodeur (reputation) and Luongo (hype).

Honestly you guys need to stop crying about Pittsburgh getting the attention when the reality is Pittsburgh brings in ratings. As does Washington. As does Detroit. That's why they get the majority of NBC matchups. Devils: Horrible TV ratings would not help bring in revenue for the WC Minnesota: Too many people translate the Wild to being a trap team which wouldn't be popular Any sunbelt team: No. Personally for the sake of rivalries I would prefer a Rags/Devils matchup before this, but at the same time this is going to bring in viewers (including a good number of people here who say they will boycott the game) and the more viewers the better.

He hasn't played enough. Nominees normally have at least 70 games under their belt. If he had played lights out at the start of the season he may have had a shot at it, though.

Osgood is lazy and he sucks. Hasek is old and he sucks. Howard is young and he sucks. Cheveldae is vintage and he sucks. Legace is a choker and he sucks. Joseph can't score for his team and he sucks.

Can't Howard be complimented without any other player/goaltender being involved? Honestly. Enjoy the ride Howard is giving us so far, because we don't know when it's going to end. And Howard does give up rebounds. Don't ignore it, no matter how well he has been playing.

Considering Hudler would be allowed to be back in Europe, be paid 5 mil untaxed for two years, and still come back to Detroit without going to a competitor, I would say there is nothing wrong with his decision. It makes sense.
