I'm sorry, I forgot that I live in fairy tale land. I'll just leave and go ride my unicorn off into the sunset. Later, homeskillet.

If it is no s*** then your gripe should be less on the instigator penalty and more on the NHL getting their s*** in order.
-
And that is my point. If hockey requires players to perform vigilante justice on others for cheapshots, then the league is not doing their job.
-
Because your discussion of self defense in society does not relate to self defense in the sport. Attacking someone for putting someone else out of a game from a cheap-shot is not part of "self defense" when the system knows it happened and can punish it accordingly (and when that player already received the entire brunt of the "crime" itself). That is vigilante justice. They are not the same. If we have a situation where Cooke repeatedly punches players in the back of the head without a single player attempting to stop him because it leads to a suspension or severe penalty, then there may be a parallel. That isn't the case here.

I love you, man. "WINGS BY ONE, GAAAAMMEEEEEEEE SEVEN!!!!"

*nostalgia'd*

That's what SHE said!

I'm talking about we as people. Not we as a legal entity. Those threats are the same as those provided by the NHL rulebook.
-
Absolutely.

Wow, after watching Miller's deke and then Datsyuk's pass to Franzen for the block I noticed that Fleury didn't even know where the puck was and Datsyuk could have easily shot it in the left upper side of the net. Missed chance by the man who sees everything.

How do we as a people deter illegal attacks?
-
Hard to "defend" yourself when the minute you take a shot at the guy going after you the team zerg rushes the bastard.
-
They don't happen that often when it is a single player seeking out a player who was defending against him all game and proceeding to crosscheck that player multiple times in the back, attempting to punch in the back of the head, then after the game (once again when the victim has done nothing to the player and is about to skate away) crosschecking that same player in the face. Not the first time Crosby has sought out Zetterberg in stupid frustration. And this is coming from a guy who thinks Crosby gets way too much flak and attention around here.
-
Your two recent examples aren't comparable because they both feature two players scrapping with each other and starting a large scrum. Zetterberg did not go after Crosby in any way until Crosby took that last crosscheck to his face.
-
Come on, Gordie, don't compare apples to oranges to defend the play.
-
-
Translation: Z has shut Crosby down since he entered the league. Also Howard deserves a ******* medal for getting into the scrap like that. Amazing.
-
SWEET CAROLINE!!!!! BOP BOP BAH!
-
Seriously though, it gets annoying as a guy who really thinks he has been getting the short end of the stick when it comes to his rep when he does stupid s*** like this. Zetterberg is your kryptonite, Sid. Be happy he is in the west and go on to the next game. Don't crosscheck said player repeatedly because he made you look completely worthless in front of the same fans chanting you suck. Honestly.
-
Wow how dare Zetterberg back into Crosby's stick repeatedly like that. ******* disgrace to the Wings.
-
The Sharks have a game in hand. Colorado is in seventh place right now, but I don't expect that to be the case in a few days considering they have TWO games in hand on Nashville.
-
White is a better jersey, and I wish they went back to white simply because of all the great moments the Wings had wearing the white at home.
-
Am I the only one who finds this ridiculous ?
Doc Holliday replied to interminded's topic in General
Well considering the experts who work for the NHL listed him as a potential front-runner for the MVP I'm going to go ahead and agree to disagree on that. And I supposed it IS Osgood's fault when the team in front of him can only score a single goal in that game 7 after being the top offensive team in the league in the regular season. Fact is Osgood was amazing in the playoffs and if the Wings won it would have been either him or Zetterberg for the Smyth. And the other fact is Howard is playing great and though he has looked tired at times he is putting up wins and hasn't looked overworked to the point where we NEED to make a switch.
