Brandon Dubinsky calling Sidney Crosby a little baby
Doc Holliday replied to Finnish Wing's topic in General
I do remember the quote and i thought it was dumb of him to say it. I was actually like "really?" One of the reasons I really don't like the guy too much. And I don't NEED to do anything. This is a discussion forum and I exercise my right to voice my opinion on anything, whether it is agreeing with someone or not (and I do plenty of both). Can you have a discussion with me without getting mad because I am "arguing" with you? Just once, Zack, I would just love for that to happen. It's a discussion for crying out loud. If you don't want to be part of it then don't respond. Easy peasy. -

Being over-analyzed is going to hurt a player when he does things that every player in the league does. Situations like the one with Dubisnky happen all the time, but only for Crosby is there a response like the one Dubisnky makes. Why is that?Reputation. A reputation that causes every little mistake he makes to be looked into many times by people (the majority people who cannot stand the guy) and overblown to the point that over time it completely revises history (such as the whole "always a diver" belief). Also, no need to bring in the condescending attitude. -

^ So basically it is okay to look into his actions much more so than any other player (and look into his very few dumb actions as a means to justify your hate toward him) simply because he didn't tell the media to leave him alone? This is like hating the kid in elementary school who got the big fudge brownie for lunch and didn't decline to eat it. I can only imagine the s*** storm that would have occurred had Crosby been the one fighting Gary Roberts in the 2008 playoffs with his gloves on instead of Datsyuk. -

Now now don't bring Ovechkin into this. Questionable hits are a whole different matter and I have no problem with Ovechkin hitting all the time because that is what makes great hockey. -
You understand the Penguins beating Nashville would be a GOOD thing. So you would be surprised if the Penguins had won. They didn't.

Okay, well for starters I'm sure his peers get as much of the stereotype in their heads as you and I do when asked that question. Especially considering his first year in the NHL was a diving, pissed off whine-fest (and with all the media attention those actions were put under the microscope). But at the same time Iginla was considered the best leader in the league when that poll was made, despite his teams lack of success during his career. Reputation is key. When did all of this happen? -

The bold has nothing to do with what Crosby does. Also, the "whining" angle is ridiculously overblown. -

I'm not some crazed Crosby defender but I would love to know where you get the idea that he is self entitled... or even a whiner. Some of you guys have serious issues with just one player. -
1. Wrong word in bold. 2. Only on lgw do posters bring up the goaltending in a thread completely unrelated to the subject.

Yeah he has not looked like the Ericsson we all were hoping for. He could use a break, that's for sure.

We lost 88 goals and get back 76 goals - Good Job Kenny!

Nobody says "hoes" anymore. Get with the times, man. -
I don't "mind" the staged fighting but if I was out there I wouldn't want to be bothered to fight the other guys enforcer simply for a muscle flexing contest. I get it, you punch people. I would be more afraid to see the guy knock someone's head off during play and know that the next shift it could be me if I touch the puck. And I would be much more afraid to play aggressive when I know the guy is not only going to be aggressive back, but if I get too aggressive the guy is just going to drop them and try to knock my lights out. But that is just me. Micah: get over the "expert" crap. You and I both know your appeal to authority is garbage when the same authority contradicts himself when an enforcer is not in the picture. Don't misrepresent my position now. I have no problem with fighting in the NHL and believe it has its place. Such as when May went after some Colombus nobody after he was taking liberties and running the Wings. But I don't think talking to the other team's enforcer before a faceoff or during a game just to fight and show everyone that you can fight has any point to it. And I think May brought other things to the team than him being an "enforcer".

Kronwall has definitely helped the defense (made some really great plays to move the puck out of the zone tonight) but Ericsson needs to get his s*** together because he is making dumbass plays that even I wouldn't dare try and pull off. Like what the hell was he trying to do before that breakaway? Also that hooking call was so freaking obvious I yelled at the TV "Yeah don't hook him or anything Ericsson." ******* ridiculous.

Considering the Wings would be pretty safe in a playoff spot right now if they had won the 6 or so games they pissed away I am going to have to reiterate that the Wings hold their own destiny with how THEY play. They have proved it this entire season. At above: Kronwall the reason the Wings are starting to do well? NAH! (I'm an avid Franzen supporter so I will automatically attribute the Wings success from here on out to him)
-
Obviously it would feel better to be in a playoff spot for the next couple weeks, because during that span it is much easier to forget about the NHL and the Wings' chances at making the playoffs. Having them one point out just makes it more nerve-wracking. No need to worry considering the past two games were great by Detroit as a whole. Perhaps Franzen was the missing link all along?

Yeah, haha at people for being realistic and not expecting Howard to overachieve this year. It is great that he is, but honestly laughing because people weren't hailing Howard the next wunderkind? Come on now. Just enjoy the ride Howard has given us and leave it at that.
-
I honestly don't care how other teams are playing, because if the Wings are going to rely on other teams to lose/win to make the playoffs they won't be making it. Games like tonight have me optimistic that they won't have to worry about that.

Thoughts on the game: Thoughts on Datsyuk: Wonderful game. Hope they keep it up after the olympics.

Because ESAD has always been filled with an abundance of hockey knowledge, right?
-
Yeah how dare Devils fans get excited that their new acquisition scored his first goal for the franchise... I can remember a few Wings fans relatively excited when Hossa got his first last year.
-
Who cares? I would prefer to remove the whole staged fighting out of the game anyway. Ericsson's fight was a perfect example of what it should be (I'm not talking about the fight itself but how it came to fruition).
-
Take one for the team, Malts. This would be the most unselfish way to go out, and we could use a defenseman to take the lower minutes away from guys like Meech and Lebda.

How did they trade a 2009 pick when it is 2010?
-
Fil is probably the biggest catch Detroit has right now, trade-wise. He does his job perfectly well, can play excellent defense, and is not at his prime yet. However I think he is very expendable because he isn't the best offensive player there is or the best defensive player. I really hope they don't, because I love having Fil on the team.

Then PM Jedi or another mod. It's worked for me.
