I am really curious how signing one of the three UFA's last season was such a big deal. One was a goal scorer with few minutes looking for money we couldn't give him. Another was a streaky goal scorer who seemed to have trouble missing the other team's logos looking for money we couldn't give him. The final was a great two way player who scored 10 more goals than a player who was signed for 20% less and was going to be out for half of the season. I just don't buy the "balance" thing here when two of the three UFAs you have are looking for raises in the salary cap era.

A better solution would be great instead of saying "ZOMG he let them all walk what a terrible GM!"

The entire team might as well be out with an injury the way they are playing. It should be Lidstrom, Rafalski, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Miler out there. With Brad McCrimmon in goal without any pads.

Detroit will win this game, go on a 4 game winning streak and make the 7th spot by the end of the season. This game will be a turning point for the Wings, and I have no doubt in my mind.

Now now, Don Cherry's comments were discussing the lack of "blue collar" talent in Detroit, which is what brought a lot of fans to the Joe to begin with. He actually seems to like the Red Wings from my understanding.
