Howard wasn't the problem tonight (second goal was the only one I could blame him for and I doubt he even saw it), and I don't see any joy in Howard letting in softies (not tonight), the team getting obliterated with Howard in net, or having Howard get pulled. But I guess when I argue anything against the Howard bandwagon I hate his guts and want to see him fail every game. Come on now.
-
Aren't you a ray of sunshine today?
-
Yeah, but s*** happens. Knowing the Wings' luck tonight he would have slammed face first into the boards trying to pull off a routine hit.
-
I don't know, but I'm sure it has something to do with this.

Game four of the Western Conference Finals they did that, mainly to rest Osgood. Personally I think next year if Howard plays well they should switch Osgood to backup status and see how Howard does next year. Ozzie is going to be very old next year so I think that would be a good time to put him in. Maybe switch them up during the post-season.
-
Just wait for them to retire Osgood's number.

Malkin isn't the only one to miss out on a suspension from the instigator, you know.

Which represents the Wings because of the fact timely goals in the playoffs and winning cups is what the Red Wings as a TEAM are known for. Franzen (one player on a team) being a diver does not suddenly make the Wings a team full of divers. Congrats. You have brought the point home that Franzen is a diver. How exactly does that point make the Wings a team of weaklings? Oh right, it doesn't. Well I'm sorry that you think of the Red Wings as a bunch of weaklings, because I haven't seen that since I've watched the team. Perhaps because of a single game in the playoffs against the Ducks in 08? Or maybe the year before when they were playing an tough strong defensively sound hockey club? Or maybe one or two games where the other team took some cheap shots? Oh right, when an enforcer wasn't playing the team was frail and weak. That's why they have done so well pre and post-lockout despite having the rest of the NHL pounding away at them. How silly of me.

Hope the Pens win this one. We all know they are going to make the playoffs and the more points between the Wild and Detroit the better.
-
Good thing Osgood is being a great mentor to Howard then.
-
You are right, I can't stand legitimate playoff goaltenders. Can't wait to be rid of him.

Howard to start vs. Isles, Big E eyes return vs. 'Canes

Wow is all I have to say. -
It would be a shame if Osgood only had every rare occasion to start, considering rusting on the pine won't help his game any. And he may be in for the Vezina stats wise, but that is not how the trophy is won. There are goaltenders playing better than Howard no matter how pleasant he has been. Come on, guys.

And if one player spoke for the entire team then you would be correct. And if a few players spoke for one team over many decades then you would be correct. Pussification is not relevant to THIS topic. Unless you imply that players like Gordie Howe, Mickey Redmond, Ted Lindsay, Bob Probert, Darren McCarty, Henrik Zetterberg, Vladimir Konstantinov, etc. *******. You said you love that I can't "Resist" you. Since this is a discussion forum, why should I need to "resist" anyone? Or is it no longer about discussion and more about pissing people off with a single picture of a player turtling to define the Red Wings as an organization? And perhaps a cookie to those who can "resist" your points.

The thread title is quite the understatement.

I think it would be better if Chicago had as difficult of a time as possible getting the number 1 seed in the conference. despite Q's record against Detroit I would rather play the weakest Chicago team possible in the playoffs. That goes for any upper seed.
-
It's a poll on Twitter. That in itself should tell you how meaningless it is.
-
Cute. My point was that the "pussification" of this franchise is almost irrelevant. And you seem to be so into such an irrelevant point I just feel the need to respond. Of course this can be considered admittance to trolling which is against the rules here. So next time you bring up this "fact" I'll be sure to keep that in mind. And once again, the immature comments are very cute. Keep them coming.
-
I honestly didn't see this "run" by Shelley. When was it?
-
Yes, Janik should take note that it was a dumb move by Cleary to take out a player from behind when he isn't even crashing the crease.
-
I thought it was pretty clear. Though you are out of your mind to think the one picture to represent the Wings as a whole is one that represents "diving *******". Very few in the league really give a damn considering the fact that Detroit is the most successful modern franchise in the NHL. In fact I don't see how it is relevant. Oh, right because the whole enforcer and Franzen being a diver thing. Riggghtt.
