His last decent offensive season was in 2007. When you know there is a logjam on defense and your ass is on the line, there is no such thing as "oh it was one training camp" as an excuse. I'm sure Holland wishes he could have kept Quincey IN 20-20 HINDSTIGHT but the odds are he wasn't going to get any powerplay time (where he gets the majority of his points) or even play as well here as he did there. It was Quincey's shot to make it as a consistent player on the team and he got outplayed. Simple as that.
-
Maybe you should have been paying attention in training camp. Honestly some of you guys should just make a thread where you guys can talk about how horrible the Quincey loss was, because I swear ten years from now you people aren't going to shut the hell up about it.
-
There is a reason Afinogenov is being paid 800k. And Quincey dug his own hole. Get the f*** over it.

The first goal was very soft, shorthanded or not.
-
What a soft goal by Howard on that one.

USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!

Holmer? Are you kidding me?
-
So who is elite in your book?
-
Funny, they said this about Conklin last year.
-
Har har har. It's funny to see how some poster's turn their opinions around when the specific authority says something that agrees with their point of view, while disregarding the fact the same authority said the opposite a year prior.
-
If that is the case Osgood would have started more games when he WAS doing well.
-
Those are two completely different statements.
-
How did you get that from "Howard can't beat over .500 teams"?
-
Nobody said that.
-
When you can't argue against the logic I suppose it makes sense to attack the poster's merit. Also good job on Howard today. One goal and his GAA and Sv% gets even better.
-
So Howard's flubber in the final minute of the second period against Colorado didn't hurt Detroit? The same play that gave Colorado a one goal game? Or how about in Dallas? And lets see those TEN times. Please.
-
Wasn't Detroit 7-5-something in December? They are at least off to a good start so far.
-
Osgood never said he wanted playing time simply because he is Chris Osgood.

Brad May Lower Body Injury (Day to Day)
Doc Holliday replied to Rick Zombos Ghost's topic in General
There was helmet twisting, lots of hitting, and crosschecking after the whistle during the Winter Classic. And there has been such in games where May has been on the ice. Clear enough? Also you seem to argue towards the fact that fans love enforcers, when I have never doubted that and have supported May during the entire season. Still pointing me as an anti-enforcer? -
Brad May Lower Body Injury (Day to Day)
Doc Holliday replied to Rick Zombos Ghost's topic in General
Because with Brad May the other team wouldn't have thought to put any facewashes on our guys. Or even twisting of helmets. Did you see how there was no scrums after the whistle during the Winter Classic game tonight? Man good thing there were enforcers on the ice to scare everyone. Would have been ******* chaotic without them. -
The Value of an Enforcer: Brad May/ The Misunderstood Point Sytem
Doc Holliday replied to a topic in General
Is Ian's run at Lidstrom an anomaly? (I believe that though it was a clean hit Lappy did focus on Lidstrom and attempted to crush him instead of actually worry about the main play itself) Is it perhaps a simple proof that enforcers aren't the be all end all of cheapshotting against specific teams? That can't be proven and I think it is silly to believe either is the case. There are only a few things that can be proven: 1. Brad May fights 2. Brad May works his ass off 3. Brad May will defend his teammates 4. Brad May will respond to cheap shots towards his star players 5. Brad May provides a spark to the fourth line that was missing last year That's what should be talked about here. Not the pussification of the Red Wings prior to this year or how Brad May is a goon and has no talent or whatever else people on LGW will discuss. The Wings won the next game. -
And this right here pretty much sums up your ignorance on the subject.

Jeremy Roenick says "a big fall is ahead for the Red Wings"
Doc Holliday replied to Vladifan's topic in General
Since when did people start caring what Jeremy Roenick thinks? -
Ever gone fishing? There is a thing called casting out a fishing line and TROLLING to get a fish to bite. BAITING is another term for the same concept. But my entire point is it isn't necessary to gush over a specific player over and over and over and over again, just as it isn't necessary to bash a specific player over and over and over again. I'm happy for Howard just like I am happy for Bertuzzi but I don't think we need to reiterate that he is doing a good job every week.

Ever heard the term "it's not personal, it's business"?
