Maybe if you weren't setting up an obvious troll attempt there wouldn't be any taking offense. For the fifth time this month, Howard has been doing well. He has not been stealing games for the Wings but he has stepped up when there have been a lot of problematic injuries for this team.

Leino hasn't been on any type of positive game all season. Last night was his first good game.

I just think Babcock is a hardass. He pushes every single player, veteran or rookie and I think it works the majority of the time.

The Value of an Enforcer: Brad May/ The Misunderstood Point Sytem
Doc Holliday replied to a topic in General
Are you seriously going to act surprised that someone has a different opinion than you on a discussion forum? The entire point of my post was to point out that Perry is not intimidated by "tough" enforcer players. He is a tool and acts like it regardless of who is on the ice. I also think the "pansification" of this team is ridiculously overblown and I see nothing to prove that the team has been or is timid and soft in relation to the rest of the NHL. -
How bout I explain it like you are a six year old... You=accusing others of saying Osgood is the best goaltender and can do no wrong Others=not saying that Simple enough?

Based on what? -
No one is even saying that, and it is amazing that you continue to pull this bulls*** simply because someone believes Howard's performance is overblown based on the teams he has started against. There was a thread on HFboards that attempted to belittle Brodeur's accomplishments because his backups over the years posted similar stats and this seems to be the same scenario.

Huge improvement tonight. Hopefully he keeps it up and earns his spot back while Eaves is sick.

So you think this was just like all his others? This was between his game in Dallas and in Chicago. (Btw I thought he did pretty well against Chicago)

Are you saying Jonathan Ericsson is a softie? -
No, Howard was to blame on the first goal. He tried to dive in and put himself in a terrible position and the Avs were able to just poke it in.
-
I believe the assertion was that he doesn't play AS well. Which he didn't. Because Babs is trying to face Howard against better competition since he is clearly the "better" goaltender.

If you aren't willing to discuss the topic like an adult why are you even here?

I can always count on you to miss the point completely.

What happened in Nashville, then? Was that just a lucky game by him or what?
-
So you base how hard he works in practice on.....
-
Maybe a Mikael Samuelsson hat trick. A goal, an assist and a gloved punch from behind a referee.

A habit? I can think of two games where that was a problem. And he has only one less point than Howard in the last ten games they each have played. And he isn't getting either a lofty load or a split load. He is getting a backup load. And I would think it is skewed towards Osgood's starts because Osgood started quite a few games when Howard had a terrible game in Sweden. Consecutive starts: OCTOBER 1 Osgood 1 Howard 6 Osgood 1 Howard 1 Osgood 1 Howard 1 Osgood NOVEMBER 3 Osgood (4 in a row total) 4 Howard 1 Osgood 1 Howard 1 Osgood 1 Howard 1 Osgood DECEMBER 2 Howard 1 Osgood 2 Howard 1 Osgood 3 Howard 1 Osgood 3 Howard (May be four after tonight) And Howard hasn't shown a superhuman ability to save the team either. He has been progressively been getting more starts and Osgood has been progressively playing less and less which is making him more rusty and cold. Not a winning formula if you want him to play in the playoffs.

I would say Detroit is more than capable of beating NYR, VAN, DAL, and ATL.

That would be ideal.
