It sure seems that way. I miss the days where the Thanksgiving game was the one game a year where the Lions actually did win. I also forgot about the amount of resources that are used in order to make the Winter Classic happen. The NFL spends barely any extra expense for each of those games, other than marketing and jersey designs. The NHL pays a great deal to use each property and construct the rinks (not including management).

And the Thanksgiving game has very little allure like the Winter Classic does in its respective sport. To see the Lions lose every year in that game is not exciting, and seeing team after team play again and again ruins what made it great at one point.

Money.

I thought that is why we have Newbury now.

How well have the Flyers been doing with their roster? Yeah, we should emulate their style of play.

Grigs was not the same player after his accident, and I am sure that his injury hurt his motivation. It is disheartening to work all your life to play in a league like the NHL, get so close then have your development severely hindered because of an accident.

Grand Rapids is slower than the Euro leagues? Uh oh!

The difference is Ryno was useless in the preseason. Oh my god I could not believe how horrible he was.

Detroit just has an ugly looking lineup. It doesn't help that the non-scary looking ones are the only guys who are getting hurt.

And with that gamble he should have had much more motivation to play out of his mind here, without a cup unlike Detroit's stars, without a guaranteed future unlike Detroit's stars, and with a 7.4 million dollar salary unlike every Detroit star except for Lidstrom. Also considering he scored 40 goals for Detroit last year you would think he would be able to score in more than three games. And for the record of the elite players he only outplayed Datsyuk, who had a terrible year. So giving him the benefit of the doubt simply because he did better than a struggling Datsyuk doesn't make any sense. And for the record I loved the guy when he played for Detroit and I hope he gets his name put on that cup one day.

Pavel already has a contract, everyone knows he played badly in the playoffs, and that does not excuse Hossa.
