Kyle Quincey traded to Detroit in 3 team trade (TBL & COL)

Weather worked out perfectly. It was about 50 leading up to the game, then went down to 10 and 23 for the two days we skated out there. There is really nothing like playing with the Ambassador bridge in the background.

First ever outdoor game I've played. Clark Park has a pretty nice rink, actually.
-
For the record, we wanted the Hawks to beat the Blues. They just made our road to winning the division easier.
-
This is why you don't read other teams' message boards after losses.
-
Sharks May overcome your streak. Otherwise it would be a great game.

Good. Take your delusions with you. -
The Sharks had no energy up until that point, and seeing Clowe fight and get mad sparked them to get their second goal. It was a poorly timed fight. Good intentions, but just not the best time to go for it.
-
How mad are you now that Datsyuk made your two best defensemen look silly for two Wings goals tonight?
-
1. Detroit ended up winning the president's trophy easily that year. 2. Detroit had injuries during that streak. 3. Bowman has stated they will not pursue a goaltender, so their goaltending problems will continue from here on out.
-
Same with the salary cap. And a 30 team league.
-
We gave them Hossa.

I doubt the Jackets will part with Nash to a division rival. They want to have a chance to win the division some day, not look up at the perennial winner.
-
No, I don't think he would have made it in time to make a save.
-
to I'm saying he gave the puck away and the Flyers made a quick play to the front. Even if he made it back in time, he would have still been unlikely to make the save.
-
The play happened way too fast for him to make it in time. It was tick tack play once he lost it.
-
They can make it interesting in the first couple of rounds, but they won't be cup contenders. The best I can see them being is like the 09 Blackhawks. Lots of spunk and promise, but will eventually be beaten by a team that is more talented and with more playoff experience. Despite the 3-0 shutout win, I think San Jose, Detroit, and Vancouver can bump them off.
-
Agreed. Crosby will likely be back and that team has the pieces in place to win it all again. Lets hope the Flyers learn to actually beat those scumbags.

Goal number 22, another game winner?

Scorers are streaky. And if you can find anything that implies the grand consensus is he is the most "clutch" player in the league, I'd be glad to hear it. Franzen currently leads the team in goals and is second in points, so he is doing quite well for himself. Hell, the guy has 1 less game winning goal than Zetterberg has goals. 1. Franzen was injured last playoffs. Not entirely a big deal. The year before he was well over a ppg. 2. Hossa happened to have a great playoff as soon as he was put on Crosby's wing, and hasn't reached anything near that level since. Plus, he was looking for more than Franzen, was not drafted, and in fact was going to be signed after Franzen had his contract already signed. 3. Hudler is the reason Hossa took another deal. That took all summer, and kept Holland from using that extra cap space to gain them both. 4. Franzen is a trade-able asset because he has a lot of value that other teams could want. I have never denied that. But for you to admit that you have to admit he holds value to other teams, including this one. Your posts have stated quite the opposite. So there we go. Franzen gets more flak than anyone on the team, so I don't really think he is overrated.
-
And Zetterberg has had many instances where he has been a non factor. Mule's cap hit doesn't hinder Detroit a huge deal, especially in the later years when the cap goes up. Zetterberg's is 2 million more, and for a similar length. Does he really deserve such less scrutiny than Franzen? My issue isn't with holding Franzen responsible for his actions. My problem is the fact LeftWinger goes on and on and on about how much he cannot stand Franzen. We get it.
-
Try again. Your delusion is clouding your logic. The funny thing is he is getting paid a whopping 4 million and has 21 goals (leading the team), yet the onus is solely on him to score every single game. Shouldn't your focus be on Zetterberg, the guy who won the Conn Smythe, earned a hefty lifetime contract, and isn't playing up to snuff this season?

Canada doesn't own the game. Nobody does.

Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium Finalized
Doc Holliday replied to MabusIncarnate's topic in General
The bolded is sad and pathetic. Don't embarrass the alumni of your school with that tripe. If Detroit wants to fix itself, they shouldn't rely on yet another sporting game in the area to bring people in. They've already had multiple chances to do that. -
Do you get tired beating that dead horse?
-
Looks good to me. The team has some tenacity that I haven't seen in previous years and I like it.
