I'm sure he's fine.
-
Well that looks nice.

Players have acted tough towards tough and weak teams since the NHL has existed. The ability to react is different than the ability to prevent. One is quantifiable, the other isn't.

And you know this, how?

Stewart is a big boy, challenging Brad freaking Stuart for a clean hit. What a little f***.

SI: Sidney Crosby to visit spine specialist in Calif.
Doc Holliday replied to Yzguy's topic in General
He has been given attention and adoration since he was 14. He has hardly had the hard knocks that you and I experience. Sorry, but I don't really care if things are a little difficult for him now. He still has more freedoms and choices while concussed than anyone here does healthy. -

I won't feel sorry for the guy until this concussion affects how he will live his life from now on. As of right now, he is rolling in dough and able to afford trips to every single doctor that could help him with this scenario. One which if he gets over will allow him to make millions upon millions of dollars to add on to the millions upon millions of dollars he already has. Sure it might suck, but he can help the pain with his adoration of Pittsburgh fans, Stanley Cup ring, and massive paycheck coming in every week. -
Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium Finalized

Price, this isn't about "what's fair for everybody else". This is a business an the entire goal is to make money. If some teams who aren't as notable don't get into it, they need to focus on being a better franchise so the NHL can't afford not to put them in. In Toronto's case, they are the hockey mecha of the entire world and their only real crime was being based in Canada. The Blues have JUST started to gain relevancy and they are a secondary rival to other teams in the central (they don't have the original six luster or recent Stanley Cup championships or years of playoff dominance to hang their hat on), so I'm not sure what you expect. -
Not sure how this makes sense considering this rarely happens and fights don't necessarily prevent people's frustrations from boiling over into other games or later on. I even cited a similar fight in a league which allows fighting. This is just a case of an idiot causing a mess of a situation. Nothing more, nothing less.

I got to see a full brawl during a handshake between the Whalers and Knights (I believe) a few years back. Was pretty fun to watch, but when I look back it was a pretty bad situation.

If you are talking about the striped jersey, I hope not. I want the Wings to wear red, their home colors, at home. Also, Burke is a major tool. -
An abrasive forward? Is this an Eklund rumor?

I'm curious to see what the jerseys will be for the classic. Detroit hasn't had a very extensive list of home jerseys, so I'm guessing it will just be our current home with vintage white and an old logo. -
Makes a lot of sense.

Ratings aren't really the main draw of the game so much as the amount of merchandising and corporate sponsorship money that comes with it. It is going to be a fairly large draw no matter how long it goes on. It is a one time a year game either way you slice it. Also, I would have preferred the Blues as a matchup, but once they decided it would be at the Big House, that was over. No team other than the UM football team is going to play on that field wearing the blue and yellow (maize and blue), let alone as an away team. -
1/17 GDT : Red Wings 3 at Dallas Stars 2 (SO)

That game was boring, but the ladies behind Babcock made it much more enjoyable. -
Brutal and beautiful at the same time.

Yeah, it's been well understood that this is Stuart's last year in Detroit. He wants to spend more time with family so I don't fault him. The defensive core is going to look a lot different next season.

Kenny has made moves when he has had cap space, so I personally would be surprised to see him do nothing for Lidstrom's potentially last playoff season.

League takeover of cash-strapped Devils may be inevitable
Doc Holliday replied to edicius's topic in General
Isn't it the Devils' fault and not the league's for this circumstance? -
You sound hella mad.

Man that Franzen guy is so clutch, eh?
-
We get it. Franzen is useless and is the worst. You don't have to bring it up in threads that don't have to do with him.

I think it has to do with the availability of hockey games. Ten years ago it wouldn't have been as easy to see the best players to play the game in other formats than the All Star game, so it meant more. Now, it's simply an extra showcase of top-tier talent. It doesn't mean as much.

He is getting minuses because he is flat out wrong, and the video evidence shows it in spades. Salo wearing a Canucks jersey doesn't make him a scab.
