Don't respect him as a person, but have a lot of respect for him as a player. What he and Lidstrom have done is amazing.
-
Howard felt he got run and defended himself. That isn't bush league at all. Did you say the same thing when Miller went after Tootoo? Also, if St. Louis sports talk is focused on a single penalty when they were the beneficiary of plenty of ridiculous calls THEIR way which came in a game THEY WON, your city has some issues.

How did the 08 Wings do against the Blackhawks that season?

Am I the only one who finds the guy thoroughly entertaining?

Lightning Replica Jerseys with RFID Chips
Doc Holliday replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
So the Lightning can track when you purchase stuff at THEIR arena, and suddenly it is a big deal? Don't want your purchases to be tracked (because a credit card doesn't do that already), pay full price for concessions. -
On to the next one, boys.
-
Yeah, it really showed during that long and gritty series against Chicago.
-
Could you imagine how much money the Wings could make if you had more than 700,000 people who actually lived in the city?
-
Apparently I have to state it again: He was complimenting them on a good line change. Did you notice afterwards how he stated the Lightning were slow to change their players which is why the Wings ended up scoring?
-
You aren't talking about a weakness. You are talking about a Bruins team sweeping Detroit in a seven game series, something that hasn't happened since 2003. That is a really bold assertion about a team that hasn't beaten Detroit since 09. And beat every single team they played this month EXCEPT for Detroit.
-
MM is a ******* moron. Wings dominate the period, and he has to talk about how he likes how Tampa played in that period?
-
ROOF IT HUDLER!

He commented on how it was a good change. It wasn't a jab.
-
Two weak goals. Good job on Ericsson for getting one.
-
No, that's being melodramatic. The Wings weren't a world beater by any means, but they could have put up a fight against any team in the league last post-season. They went 7 games against a team that has had their number, and swept a team they struggled with the previous year. Hell, the tiny Canadiens went 7 against Boston and almost pulled off a series win. Boston would have most certainly beat Detroit last year, but Detroit could have won one or two games. For the record, I think San Jose would have had the best chance to beat Boston.
-
Geez, talk about being melodramatic.
-
The key word is "rant". We can absolutely talk about how to make the team better(this team needs to get better to contend for a championship), but it just seems like someone getting worked up based on a preference of style and not really on a big weakness the team has. It also doesn't help when some posters get so worked up about physicality they state that Dallas freaking Drake deserved the Conn Smythe for the 2008 playoffs. On subject: I do think the Wings are going to need to get meaner and bigger now that the disparity in talent between now and 2008 is getting bigger each year. We may not need to become a team that is feared physically, but we do need to become one that can contend physically in the coming years.
-
Did they just start doing that system this season? I do not remember it at all last year.
-
Lightning games don't happen often enough. Yzerman, Boucher, Downie, Thompson, Stamkos, and St. Louis in one package? Great hockey right there.
-
I think LGW is the only forum in hockey that will whine about the team being soft after a 4 game win streak. Sure, snarl would be nice to have, but going on a rant while the team is playing great hockey?
-
Foligno wouldn't have had a chance to get a fight in. Not if Kunitz is playing babysitter the way he did on that scrum.
-
For starters, that isn't a suspendable hit. It's a scrum in front of the net where one player is taking extra liberties. Second, Crosby at least had some reason to give cheap shots to Foligno. And they weren't even super cheap shots at that. Third, Crosby is a cheap little *****. As soon as things get heated Kunitz is in to save the day. If you want Crosby to play sheriff, then let him fight his own battles.
-
Great game by the Wings, tonight. Second of a back to back against a division rival. Let's hope they keep the streak going!
-
You don't remember the "I have to play better" speech from 1997? That was local legend for a bit after they won it that year.
-
Zetterberg's gaffe was a part of the forecheck. Howard wasn't paying attention and just gave it away. The stat holds water considering the top teams in the league are also tops in shot differential at even strength and when the game is tied. Detroit improved against San Jose last year and almost came out with a series win. Hell, Phoenix doesn't cry gloom and doom as much as people on here and they went from going 7 games to a 4 game sweep against the Red Wings. The team isn't a Stanley Cup contender right now, sure. But the team is back where they should be in the standings and have the potential to improve. And they beat a strong talented Boston team with a solid win from our goaltender. That should be cause for celebration, not worry.
