How did we get into a discussion about Brunnstrom? Let's hope Abdelkader thrives with Datsyuk. Not terribly optimistic about having Franzen with him, but we'll see how it goes.
-
Well he's right about needing more shoot.
-
Detroit's tied with San Jose (I think) in goals scored by defensemen. Imagine what is going to happen when Lidstrom retires.
-
The blues were clutching and grabbing all night. Those penalties were pretty well deserved. Other than the tripping non call, the Wings played pretty honestly. That was also a testament to how little they worked during the game. Agreed. Cheers.

I'm sure I was.

It doesn't help that you act like an ass. Also the post I responded to sounded EXACTLY like you wanted a certain player to fail.

Am I the only one who finds it strange that Hudler is getting the majority of the scorn right now considering the performance of Datsyuk and Zetterberg? I'll admit that Cleary and Hudler have been terrible. But where are the leaders on forward? Franzen seems to be our go to guy now and he takes off nights, so how can this team stay competitive when we have two stars who aren't playing like it and a goal scorer who is taking on a role he shouldn't be taking?

I think he was commenting on the fact Hudler and Kindl were on the point.
-
Man, coming from your posts, it's almost as if you WANT the Wings players to do poorly. That can't be right, can it?
-
Datsyuk and Zetterberg need to find a way to lift up this team. Howard can't do it all by himself.
-
They were linemates back in the day.
-
Right, because commenting on my opinion of debates that go 30 pages means I pretend to be a mod. Last time I checked, you and I not too long ago had a intellectual debate about the Wings and their losing streak. But I guess that was just me giving you condescending lectures. I'll be sure not to make that same mistake again.
-
Enforcer debates on this board are not comparable to any other debate, other than Crosby bashing and goaltender threads. Hardly as much as I used to. Thank you for chiming in, though. I really appreciate your concern.

Hard to beat someone's ass when they aren't going to be on the ice for the rest of the game. Don't play stupid. You know every discussion about "sparking the team" and "enforcers" and "beating people up" and "powerplay is our enforcer" and "talentless goon" and "every GM in the league" ends up the same way. The fact it always becomes a big pro/anti-enforcer circle jerk is what makes it worthless.
-
Doesn't help your case when Holmstrom has been abused in front of the net his entire career, enforcer in the lineup or not. Hooray for a worthless argument about enforcers...AGAIN. Even when the team goes after Stewart for the hit.
-
It doesn't help when you have to have a five minute power play with one regular PP defenseman. They'll get their chances. They have been the better team so far.
-
If you don't like it, learn to beat it.

It does irritate me that the result gets penalized more often than the actual action, but it is pretty similar to the way things are done in the real world. I doubt Lucic will be suspended though. Maybe a fine, but not a suspension.
-
You are aware concussions can be had from the most minor of hits, right?
-
For starters, he takes a reactionary swipe at the leg. There is nothing terrible about that. Were you going off on Franzen when he tapped Thornton in the leg? Same exact type of slash. Second, I read the Mcsorely from another poster and attributed that to you. My mistake. Third, no need to act like a dick. It's childish.
-
A one handed swipe to the leg equates to a two handed slash to the side of the head?
-
Atta boy Detroit! Classic Red Wings win right there.
-
The thing I find hilarious is that people talk about how this is an example of goalies "expecting" to be protected. Miller didn't try to put himself in between Lucic and the puck. He got to the puck in order to keep Lucic from getting a scoring chance on a breakaway (how dare he, right?) and got hit by a moron who doesn't know any better. This isn't like Marc Andre Fleury getting the puck behind the net and getting into a player's way to draw a penalty. (see: Johan Franzen in game 6 of the 2008 finals) The rules are there for a reason. Lucic decided to ignore them and deserved a penalty and a good beating.

Crosby denied it.
