Let me know how many goalies can consistently stop a 50 goal scorer taking a top corner shot without pressure.
-
You're trying way too hard.
-
I sincerely doubt Holland will stand pat with the cap space he has. Getting good pieces to improve the team to get them into the conference finals and later is another story.
-
From 5-0 to 5-4. My god. And Burns scores the game winner for San Jose. Insult to injury.
-
Stuart has been terrible tonight. Kronwall a close second.
-
Well, this is frustrating. Lose a game you play then come home to see your team lose their game as well. Hope their loss wasn't as pathetic as ours was. Also it is sad that not once, but twice in the past two days I am agreeing with GMR. It's like freaking bizzaro world here.

Buffalo signs Ville Leino to 6-year, 27m contract

Huh? -
They really like the potential.

Probably because the "scream for a trade" came immediately after loss number 2 and not during the offseason. And he points out that other teams apparently haven't shown a lack of effort this season, which is ridiculous. I think that is pretty radical, actually. That and accusing the entire team of not showing effort during this season. When someone gets up in arms about youth injection, scratching a top player for a prospect, and implying the Wings are the laziest team in the NHL, it is going to get radical responses back. And it took people who weren't the OP making reasonable points about the Wings' problems to get into reasonable discussion.
-
Is anyone saying the Wings put a sufficient effort in the Columbus game? The entire premise of the OP was that drastic steps need to be taken NOW based on the performance of the Red Wings in their last two losses. Nobody is saying Babcock should be okay with the Wings performance. It is his job to worry about the little things and tweak and tweak until he gets things right. Our job is to enjoy the ride and discuss what is going on. Based on what I've seen I don't see why we should be taking drastic steps when we don't have a strong grasp on the current team yet. Why rush and make a move when it could make things worse in the long run?
-
THIS is a legitimate argument. THIS is what fosters civilized discussion (usually) regarding the Wings and their potential. THIS is what the OP should have went with. And no, Harold. The title was perfectly appropriate for the content he put into his post. Looking for accountability after two losses, and acting like there aren't 29 teams who have terrible games or stretches.

What else is there to say? I showed how nobody is condoning the Wings' play the past two games and simply saying to lay off the panic button, and you respond by saying that laying off the panic button IS condoning the Wings' play. And then when I ask you to back up that logic, you accuse me of having nothing of substance to say. You are aware how asinine that is, right?
-
Put up or shut up. Simple as that.
-
Abdelkader is the next Downey.
-
Obviously.
-
Nobody is saying "Playing without effort is okay." People are simply saying "Whoa, don't freak out over the roster yet. It's been two games over an 82 game season. Let's see how they do for a bit before hitting the panic button." It's sad that people can't understand the difference.
-
You expect an 82-0 season? Good to know.
-
5-2-0 WHOA THIS TEAM NEEDS SOME YOUTH INJECTION!
-
The sad thing is whether you agree with those penalties or not, the Wings have been playing too lazily to argue against them. They get beat to the puck and have to take penalties to compensate. Horrible.
-
Pathetic effort so far. Even when they aren't pressured, they are giving it away.
-
First period fire from a winless team who lost their last game while leading with less than a minute to play. Detroit needs to exploit the fact they are going to be putting themselves more out of position as the game goes on. Terrible effort, though.
-
Do I need to explain it a second time?
-
Craplin isn't even clever.
-
So Vancouver traded away half their playoff performers in Samuelsson? I don't even.
-
I went to school with Abdelkader. Nice guy.

I live like a minute away from Osgood. Saw him taking out the trash once.
