Pretty awful game. That's the thing with losses. When the team loses there is more to discuss regarding what needs to improve. In a win there is normally a couple pages of circle-jerking whoever played well and that's that. Shouldn't be shocking that there are a bunch of pages for a first loss, especially one where the Wings get brutalized.

How much of a steal was James Neal for Pitt?
Doc Holliday replied to unsaddleddonald's topic in General
Lidstrom is an anomaly, as are Stamkos, Crosby, and Ovechkin. Neal hasn't even hit 30 goals yet. Both players are up and coming and will help their teams in the long run. That was my entire point. -

Goal scorers normally hit their prime between 26-28 if I'm not mistaken. Defensemen hit their prime from at 30 or later. Not sure anyone got fleeced. Pittsburgh got a scoring winger they needed and Dallas got a fine young defenseman. -
You hear that? According to Scott Stevens, Holland just did what he was told. He didn't have a say in any of his own decisions.

Maybe you should stop caring about reputation points. Also Hudler is 27. And matches Ruutu's high in points. And looks like he is back to his old form. But naw, we should trade him straight up for a guy who may not work in the system and provides an arguably negligible advantage in the long run.

It's also streamed at atdhenet.tv Gotta say, both Toronto and Colorado look inconsistent.
-
We don't need any more "skilled" forwards right now. Brunnstrom was enough.
-
I say keep doing what they are doing now. They are winning and as long as the bottom guys stay competitive with each other then I'm satisfied.
-
Not yet. Completely flubbed a one timer in a 2-2 game and lead to an offensive scoring chance. He's gotta be more consistent.
-
I'm bold enough to say he did not have a good game at all. Two turnovers that lead to goals, weak tipped shots, and in general did not control the play like expected. Not a bad game for a second liner, but he can do much better than that.

Glad to see the Wild get excited and get into their ridiculous 1-2-2 formation then lose because of it. f*** off and enjoy the loss.
-
Agreed. He's been making stupid "pretty" passes and hasn't been giving the Wild defense any difficulty in boxing him out of the front of the net. I was about to go nuts if White didn't score that goal. Just a stupid, frustrating game.
-
He tried to get cute in his own end and it led to a Wild goal. Gotta say, I can't stand Wild games. They are the most boring and unfulfilling games in the National Hockey League.

May on Boll?

Eva, you are going nuts. Hudler is not even close to the playoff performer Franzen is. Never has been, and never will be.

I don't think I have ever said that. You have me confused with someone else. I think players can get sparked up by a fight. On the other hand, so can the other team. That is why I don't put AS MUCH stock into the benefits of fighting as you do. There is a big gray area on which team gets more of the jump from it, and I don't think there is anything wrong with having one opinion or the other. My issue is creating strawmen simply to prop up one of the opinions. Personally, if there was a player who I wanted to have his clock cleaned last night, it was Ballard. The guy was grabbing people, acting tough towards our smallest players, and in general acting like a ******.

Like I said, get off your podium already, and just appreciate the damn fight. Also, I have never said that fights don't spark a team. I have simply said it isn't as big of a factor as you would like to make it appear. You are notorious for pegging anyone who doesn't see fighting the way you do as an "anti fighter". Just pump the brakes.

Get off your podium, already.

Here's to another 30 page fighting thread!

Kesler doesn't play on their line, so it really isn't going to make that much of a difference. Plus we aren't playing in the Stanley Cup Finals. Remember there is a huge difference between the two.
-
1-0 when a player on our team fights. Gotta pay more attention to the home run pass. Way too many breakaway chances on Howard. He was brilliant, though. Yes, because every team has two Art Ross winners in their lineup.

Holmstrom has never been confused as a dominant sniper or feared player.

Since when does a crappy team getting a couple complimentary players and a headcase mean they won't still be a crappy team?
