I'll assume that was a compliment. I'm playing for Lawrence Tech's varsity team.

Well I'm playing college hockey now (just so people don't call me a liar, it's not Div I hockey), and I'm pretty sure this is the furthest I can go in my career.
-
If I had the talent, started at an earlier age, and had some hands. College hockey is about as far as I can hope to attain.
-
Well that's all well and good, but I'm not going to derail a thread to a 30 page argument over the instigator and the role of enforcing preventing injuries.
-
Well if there was some correlation to the specific incident in question I would understand the discussion. But there really isn't.
-
How did the instigator rule get brought up in a thread about a player who was injured on pretty random plays? Steckel didn't see Crosby, and Hedman bumped him on the boards.

High risk, high reward deal. -
26 is young enough that he could improve.

Any audio with Ken Kal is worth a listen.

Heh. Interesting turn of events.

The game was over at that point. No need to work Datsyuk harder than he needs to. Also there is nothing wrong with having your star player drop the gloves every so often. Especially when Perry isn't a heavyweight and seems to have a pretty good respect for who he is fighting against (see Ericsson helmet fiasco).

Always had a soft spot for the guy. Great interview.

Close enough.

It was always 7.4

I'll let you back up your assertion about injury prone players with some numbers. He went to regular season, and once again you completely glossed over the fact the 09 injuries were to superstars who don't often get injured. The 2010 regular season is an anomaly like I stated already.
-
Who was injured and how often do they get injured? It was a freak year and the only year the Wings had such injury problems. Point being? Datsyuk isn't exactly injury prone, and Franzen played 76 games. Rafalski is gone, btw. He cited last year as well. Makes sense to give a broader scope of stats than pick at one or two seasons like you are doing. Nobody used injuries as an excuse in 2010, and in 2009 Datsyuk and Lidstrom are hardly "injury ridden." Also I know you couldn't find any way to replace them with "new blood." Based on one player's injuries from last season and two superstars' injuries from 09. Of course.

Antti Niemi: 60 GP Evgeni Nabokov: 71, 62, 77 GP They haven't ever had a quality backup to give them 25-30 starts (at least not in San Jose's mind). And we all know how important it can be to have a 2 or 1 seed in the playoffs.
-
What makes you think Niemi won't have a huge workload?
-
Why do you think they are able to hand a bunch of games to an AHL goaltender this season?
-
And folded. The Philly chaps? They didn't even make a dent in Boston.
-
No. They have an x factor that they can't seem to shake off. Even though they made it to the conference finals they were dominated by the Canucks and couldn't close out against us. We'll see about their acquisitions, but Burns has concussion issues and hasn't played a single game for the team. Also, who are their 3rd and 4th line centers?

Hossa?

That game wasn't broadcasted nationally. Would have given Thorne a heart attack.

I was still in diapers when the 90s started. (it would help if you gave an example of the best ESPN gave the NHL in terms of exposure, money, and broadcasting) I suppose my impression of ESPN doesn't help when their offer to a league that continues to grow (and get ratings in games it never had on ESPN) is still a slap in the face.
