Surely doesn't matter when we are talking about the Blackhawks of today.
-
Babcock is an ass, and if you don't have a spine than you aren't going to like the guy. He expects a lot.
-
So Yandle has potential to be trade bait, but signs an extension less than a week later? The f***?
-
It's funny Konopka can't get any kind of deal better than 700k, and all of a sudden it becomes an attack on a serviceable PKer in Miller. Shouldn't we be talking about how the guy couldn't even get a million on the free agent market?
-
I would rather have proven talent than potential. Smith may do very well, but we all know Yandle has proven himself as a #1 defenseman, still has room to improve, and is an immediate replacement for when Lidstrom retires. I would give away a prospect in a heartbeat for that.

"We feel good with the people we have," Holland said

Can only imagine the 180 some posters here will make if we end up signing that guy. -
Well, since mj said it... Stop posting here if you are going to keep whining about the gloom and doom of the Wings. You can make an honest discussion about the Wings' future without sounding like a baby. "The bottom line is that top to bottom, this might be the worst Wings team to take to the ice since 1991. " One of the most moronic statements ever made. Let me know how straight talent worked for Detroit in 95, 96, 01, 03. It's about structure, and the Wings were a single game away (don't forget about the injuries and s***ty luck the Wings dealt with in round 2) from making it to the conference finals. You aren't sounding like a realist. You are sounding like a straight up pessimist.

Then be a fan of the Sharks, for f***s sake. Big trades don't mean big results.
-
And to think we could have had Franson if we only kept Lebda. Way to do nothing, Holland.
-
Why not get rid of the "cap hit"? What they are paid in a given year is how much they affect the cap. Plain and simple.

Wings sign D Ian White to 2-year, $5.75m contract

And looking forward to it. Once again, sad. -

It's sad when people here hope for a player on their team to do poorly just so they can rub it in everyone's face. -
I guess that means trades are out of the question, too.
-
It won't take that much. Also, learn to spell Filppula's name correctly, please.
-
You need to get over it. Your pessimism is borderline Mindfly-like.
-
Drafted within the system and shown to be proven talents here. People are getting long term contracts without playing a single game with the team.
-
Is free agency over?
-
If only we had cap space.

Figured it would be league minimum.

Lilja must have a hell of an agent for him to keep getting jobs after his concussion. Good on him.

Jackets sign Wisniewski: 6-years $33-million ($5.5m/yr)
Doc Holliday replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Sure they can "compete" for a playoff spot, but they didn't even do that last year. Mason is still a question mark, and adding a single solid defenseman and a second line center doesn't scare me. -

You are kidding right? Just because they made some additions doesn't mean the team is a magical playoff contender. -
I believe there is a thread dedicated to venting about the poor signing, but I could be wrong.
