Wings re-sign Ericsson to 3-year, $9.75m contract
Doc Holliday replied to Ozzie30's topic in General
I'll be waiting till it is revealed it was a 4 year agreement and not 3 years like previously stated. Cause there is no way Holland offered a 3 year deal worth 3.25 million per year. That's just crazzzaaayy. -
I'll chalk this up to the alcohol. Can't think a sober adult would act so childish.
-
Still amazes me they retired Bourque's number. But this was well deserved. Good for him.

http://twitter.com/#!/Flyersguru/status/81896127003230209 http://hfboards.com/showpost.php?p=33718271&postcount=179 This is only a rumor, but if true, how much will they have to unload to be compliant?
-
Seriously, it's as if the Hawks hired Tallon to be hired by the Panthers (as if they had any credibility as a franchise to begin with) so they could unload all of their crap contracts and overrated players. f*** you, Tallon.
-
Yeah, he never said that.

You should whine some more about how little Holland has done in a week. It's June ******* 24th. Free agency hasn't even kicked up, and you and Left are going nuts on how Holland is being passive. You guys are going to look like morons if/when the guy makes some serious moves this offseason. Take a chill pill.

$2 mil+ for a playoff performer who hasn't performed in the last two post seasons or $650k for a solid, albeit redundant, fourth liner? No thank you.
-
Talbot doesn't seem like a player who takes kindly to the Winged Wheel. He has some spunk, but if he is a winger who can't even get a decent contract in Pittsburgh, why should WE offer anything?
-
In 2-3 years ... Kimmo Timonen will be 38-39. Chris Pronger will be 38-39. Danny Briere will be 35-36. Ilya Bryzgalov will be 34-35. You don't think that is an issue?
-
Let me know when Schenn actually does become at the same level as Richards, let alone better. The Flyers do have players that could perform, but what are the odds the increased roles they are given hurt them in the next coming years? Detroit's secondary forwards thrived in 08 and 09 because there was so much depth on the team. The Flyers getting worse on depth (and getting rid of a 40 goal scorer AND another forward a year removed from a potential Conn Smythe worthy season) isn't magically made up by their acquisition of Bryz. As we saw in the first round this year, the guy can be a head case. And he is on contract till he is 39.

I like this part:

Awful. Just awful.

Reminds me of when the Wings went to Anaheim for one away game. "Where's the ******* practice at tomorrow?" "El Segundo......Honda Center....."
-
You make it seem like ESPN ever had credibility when it comes to hockey. Gary Thorne was about as far as it went.
-
Nick Kyreos Elliotte Friedman If true, I cannot imagine how much the Flyers will have to gut their team to compensate.
-
Does Nabakov have to play out his contract next season? If so, yes. If he is able to negotiate a new one, then no.

+1

I'm about ready to call in and discuss the relative cap hit numbers. They have no idea what they are talking about.

You aren't allowed to do that.

Yeah, I guess him being the captain, going to media events, winning the cup four times as a key contributor and being the best defenseman of the past decade or so doesn't constitute as going beyond the call of duty. What a selfish knob.
-
The team's success isn't going to hinge on 1 million dollars here or there. It appears that Lidstrom is getting his fair share for the reasons I listed, and there is no reason to call him selfish for it.
-
Oh, so because Lidstrom has already made a lot of money, he should take peanuts to spend even MORE time away from his family and bring in ticket sales, merchandise sales, and an even better product to the Detroit Red Wings because he owes it to them? What a joke.
