Yeah, because a difference of 1 or 2 million is going to keep Detroit from making it in the playoffs. Do you think he is worth LESS than Seabrook? Seabrook is being paid 5.8 next year.

Am I the only one not interested in Jokinen? I mean, the guy is a shootout beast and everything, but he seems to have regressed since his breakout year in Carolina.

YOU ARE A LIAR
-
Well what DOES he say?
-
Don't do that. Also, there was a single call, not from Bettman, and not directly to the players involved.
-
Well the fact he got a call last minute proves that was an amendment, not the original ruling. Not sure why you argue that. Second, Crosby was contacted directly by Bettman and Lidstrom never had any idea about the change until it was brought to him through the media. He picked and chose, and that's where I take offense. I don't think it is a conspiracy, just that Bettman chose to give one player the heads up and let the cards fall where they may with Lidstrom and Datsyuk. Was it too much to ask for consistency in the situation?
-
That is also incorrect. The rule is you have to play in the game. The amendment was you only had to show up for PR purposes to get out of the "suspension". Also you would have to miss a game prior to, or after the All Star Break. Just for clarification.
-
If the guy retires before his contract expires, the cap remains on the books for the remainder of the contract.
-
That is incorrect. He played two games prior to the All Star Game. And I don't care whether Crosby is the face of the league or not. You don't provide exceptions for certain players over others (especially when that exception allows one player to miss a suspension while the others miss out on a game because of the change). It's not like Lidstrom and Datsyuk have never been assets to the NHL before.
-
Crosby should have been suspended under the rule. Bettman changed the ruling and called Crosby (he did not contact Datsyuk or Lidstrom) informing him of the change. He can absolutely be blamed for that.
-
Don't forget the 2009 All Star game.
-
Don't really think there would be mouth to mouth kissing in a rape.
-
Does that same logic carry over to ownership? Unless you are looking for it (I have no idea who the commissioners of the NBA, NFL, and MLB are and have rarely heard any information regarding them), do you really get a lot of exposure to the guy?
-
I'm a huge Osgood fan and even I know that's bunk. He was playing arguably better in 09-10 and slipped up midway through the season. This season, Howard has been the undisputed #1 for Detroit for every part of the season.
-
The guy is bad in interviews, and seems to have a nagging condition which doesn't appear to get better when he is put on the spot. I'll agree the guy isn't a great PR commissioner, but at the same time what has he said (other than little things that may piss off a few fans) that has been a PR nightmare? With the way people react I doubt even a guy with smooth talking could satisfy the fans of the NHL.
-
So that means he cares? (Could care less=/=couldn't care less)
-
Not everyone can be the "People's Commissioner". Think it is a silly request to begin with.
-
Konnan where are you getting that from?
-
Booing is pathetic unless you have a reason to have such hate for a guy. (zomg the league isn't the #1 sport he must suck so bad!) We have an excuse with the way him and Ilitch have gone at it. They hate each other. What is Vancouver's excuse?
-
In 84 they rioted. But that is the only time I can remember. People were actually surprised that people didn't riot in 04.
-
He did hit 400 last season.
-
Leino was a big contributor. He didn't like the city, the structure, or his role. Instead of making the most out of it, he cowered to the perimeter. He was a joke here and it showed in his effort. (Let's not forget that even with the freedom in Philly some fans there are starting to turn on him after one year)

Macdonald will not be offered a contract in Detroit. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index....ions_made.html

Why commit to a backup who may not even play the full year, let alone put out a consistent performance for the team?
