Especially for the playoffs. We don't need a playoff choker like Franzen in the lineup.

Hurts his credibility when he lists Malhotra as his Selke winner. Also how can two defensemen who are playing in front of the 1st and 2nd Vezina favorites considered as the favorites for the Norris? For starters, Chara has been a great shutdown defenseman, but this year and the year he won his Norris his stats were padded by having the best goaltender in the league behind him. Second, Nashville fans have the general consensus that Suter is the better all around defenseman on the team as opposed to Weber, whose main draw is his booming shot and physicality. Both of them play in front of Pekka freaking Rinne, another top 3 Vezina nominee. Lidstrom plays in front of Jimmy Howard, a goaltender who will not even get a sniff at the Vezina and has been shaky at times on the Wings. The team defense in itself has been terrible, where Justin Abdelkader is a +15 (the highest on the team) and Zetterberg is a -1. The voters can't get past the minus number? They obviously cannot bother to analyze the play and context behind each defensemen's stats and would rather pick the defenseman with the most recent hype and sexiest "defensive" stats.

The irony of a Wild fan giving someone else a golfing gesture. Oh my goodness.

Because I am incredibly bored, I thought it may be fun to partake in a bet for the final game in the season between Detroit and Chicago. Personally I believe the Wings will make things close but end up losing to a Hawks team that simply does not want to go away. My wager is this: I will make a signature based on the outcome. If the Wings win, I will make a signature listing all the people who are part of the bet as *name* > me. If the Wings lose, I will make a signature listing all the people who are part of the best as me > *name*. I might even partake in creating a mini-sig for those who are part of the bet saying me > Doc Holliday or Doc Holliday > me. Of course if someone has a better idea please go ahead and say so. I will also accept any ribbing from fans if the Wings end up winning this and knocking Chicago (potentially) out of the playoffs, so place your bets, if you dare. *Many thanks to a certain someone who inspired me with their happy go lucky posts about the Wings most recently*

If not for the Hossa "goal" against St. Louis your team would be out of the playoffs. Congrats for predicting something that you had a 1/25 chance of being wrong on. What a bold statement. Also congrats on hiding after the loss until Dallas choked away the last playoff spot. Couldn't take your ribbing? No, that would require a fan who actually has a spine.

I really think Vancouver will beat Chicago handily. They aren't even close to the team that beat Vancouver in the past. And Vancouver is much better.

Glad to be eating crow after that game. Couldn't concentrate at work because of how close it ended up being.

Don't act so upset that I made a fun little bet. Jeez. I'll get the signature up when I'm on my laptop. I just got home from work and I had to finish watching hilights and eat and stuffs.

It's not like he posted that picture just to get a rise out of Hawks fans or anything. Wait a second...
-
I'm honestly okay with that as long as it means Chicago doesn't have a chance to take 6th on us.

Most shocking post of the GDT, right here.

The Hawks have to lose in regulation Sunday and the Stars have to win in Regulation or Overtime to clinch.

It's not like Hossa gave up on Detroit when it really mattered. He was a joke in the 2009 playoffs. And absolute joke. Either way, were people saying this earlier in teh season? Nope. As soon as he stops scoring it is the end of the world and Hossa is such a great bargain in comparison. People seem to forget Franzen had 18 points in 12 games last playoffs. But that's okay, Hossa's 3 goals were what we needed most that year.

You'd be surprised how much a purse can hurt.

Did somebody say comeback?

At least he would elbow somebody.

Today is "hate everybody" night. Personally, I hate Gordie Howe for no reason whatsoever.
-
Interesting take. I would be more interested in the team's makeup if all those players were moved after the playoffs, that's for sure. Team may not be better, but it would be interesting as hell.
-
The issue is one player isn't going to make the difference. Top to bottom (excluding the fourth line most nights) the team doesn't have any heart, desire, drive, effort, defensive awareness, you name it. Holland needs to do something about the interchangeable pieces on this team because there needs to be some change in the lineup.

Kopecky is probably the only player in the history of hockey to literally be handed success despite being a terrible hockey player. Inb4EvaChrisOsgoodMaltbyCheliosOtherTerriblePlayer
