The lack of options on defense disappoints me.

We could always talk about how he has looked, which is definitely less than stellar. Way to completely ignore the questions. Howard is struggling, and is obviously not able to carry the team this year like he did last year. This is especially important considering he is going to need a new contract next season.

So you try to make an argument for Howard "detractors" who use multiple stats to base their reasoning by citing something that only gives one stat? That is more of a reason to not use the win column as the only statistic when judging Howard's play. Do you believe that Howard has been consistent? Do you not believe that Howard has struggled?

For crying out loud, I called him inconsistent, not terrible. Calm yourself.

Wrong. He has battled plenty. Also he is the sniper of the line and his job is to get into the right areas to score. That's how he has gotten his chances, they just haven't gotten in. You should work for the NHL with that kind of stat taking. My point was the hilarity of some Wings fans. If you honestly dog Franzen for his effort then you really must have hated the multi-goal games he had where he did pretty much the same thing. Thank you for completely missing the point behind the comparison. If you honestly think he is a wasted top 6 player you are going to have a rough next few years while Franzen is scoring 30+ goals consistently and getting the points in the playoffs while playing "lazy".

That's what I love about this site. Get on a player's ass for getting cold (how many goal scorers do that?) then acting like they are the second coming when they go on a streak. Stamkos has had three periods of 6 games without scoring a goal, and he is considered the best shooter in the NHL. Goal scorers are streaky, let it go.

Consistency with Howard definitely is an issue, but the good news is it is only February and Detroit has lost for the first time in 6 games. That isn't too bad of a streak.

I thought Goligoski was supposed to be the Penguins future on defense with Letang?

Does anyone know why you can't watch the shootout in the NHL highlights? They end the game as soon as overtime is over like it was a tie.

Weird how the Leafs basically snuck into playoff contention. As much as I want to see them tank and laugh at Burke, it would be interesting to see the Leafs in the playoffs again.
