Man Hudler is so useless. Scoring goals like that.
-
This is a public forum. You asked a question which was an attempt to belittle another poster's argument. None of us are pros and none of us have played every position, but that doesn't mean we can't critique players or provide insight into those positions. You don't like someone else responding to you? PM the person you are talking to, instead.
-
Is that relevant? I don't have to be a forward to critique a forwards play. Don't deflect simply to justify Howard's positioning on that goal.
-
I honestly could not take a security screener seriously if he looks and talks like Ken farking Daniels. I would expect him to yell "SCOOOOREEESSS" every time the scanner goes off. Mikey I can see as a no-bulls*** baggage handler though.

He was not signed with a team. Forsberg did not play competitive games with another league. This part you refuse to understand. That is why they put that waiver rule in place. If your interpretation of how it SHOULD be was in place then any player that retired in any country would be subject to waivers, which is a complete crock. Colorado can get plenty of butts in the seats and new jersey sales (Forsberg in the blue third jersey? yes please), and if he works out with the club long enough, he could be a depth asset in the playoffs. It is a calculated risk, but a risk nonetheless.

The rule is to keep teams from hiding players in the Euro leagues, not to pick up previous retired players. Any player, regardless of skill, is not going to be at the same level if he doesn't play competitively during the season. You are grasping at straws to compare the Nabokov ruling to this. They are not the same.
-
The rule is clear. Players would only need to pass waivers if they had previously been signed to a professional hockey team that is not the NHL. Forsberg was not in that list (and do you honestly think Forsberg is even close to the same level the day before signing with the Avalanche as he would be if he played in the SEL this year?) and has no reason to pass waivers. There is no advantage to the Avalanche trying to hide an unconditioned, injury prone Forsberg for use in the playoffs.

Detroit was a machine that year, there is no denying it. Detroit had a great first couple months then proceeded to piss away their sizable lead on the conference and have been terrible as a defensive team since December. They are not comparable.
-
That's why I like Howard. The guy is a competitor.
-
Rafalski for Kaberle straight up?
-
You should mention how much you hate that rule again. You guys really need to get some perspective.
-
Lebda isn't your best example considering he tanked as soon as he left the Wings.
-
I'd love to see a Griffins game. Too used to watching the Whalers.

From NHL.com:

DarrenDreger Darren Dreger Leafs Nation, sorry to disappoint. The Leafs are not expected to announce another trade this afternoon. But, todays could be one of many. Nevermind. 0 for 2 today.
-
That might even be worse. Either way apparently the Leafs have something in the works. Possibly Versteeg?
-
Word is Gustavsson is on the block, as well. Was pulled during a 7-1 game where the Marlies were winning. Never heard of that before.
-
So Hudler is just getting hot and his value is starting to rise, so we trade him for a career backup goaltender? Come on, Newf.
-
Cooke jumped into and hit a Columbus player from behind.
-
44 giveaways, Rafalski? Really?
-
Wow guys. I guess if you are going to high stick someone it should be that scab.
-
I was trying to be cute. Franzen says "STOP SAYING I AM LAZY!"
-
Howard with a game he desperately needed.
-
Haha f*** you Avery!

Hey, FU too! Great hands by Dats.
