Hudler was an effective part of Detroit's 2008 cup win. And Hudler was not the only one to "disappear" during the cup finals, and lack of an enforcer had nothing to do with it.
-
Lidstrom with some solid picks. Pretty much had the advantage from day one considering Staal felt like he had to pick Ward first, Staal earlier than usual, and Skinner earlier than usual. Getting Eriksson(sp?) and Duchene as sleepers was big.
-
Anyone notice how Kane is kinda removing himself from the discussions when they make picks?
-
First it was "competitive" hockey. Anything from Travel A to pro counts. Now, "going somewhere" with hockey is the qualification? Honestly, lets get some straight guidelines so you can give us all an understanding of this "poll" you are trying to conduct with LGW.

You know what? Howard should have controlled the rebound. Because of his error the defense scrambled and Nicklas Lidstrom did his damnedest to keep the puck out and Zetterberg tried to cover the man Lidstrom had abandoned in his frenzy. Without Howard's gaffe they take a defensive zone faceoff and possibly give Howard a chance to watch THEM screw up a play once again. Sure, the defense has been bad, but it was hella good last night and did everything they could except "OH MY GARSH HE DIDNT MAKE A FLYING BODY CHECK HE IS DOING IT WRONG". Didn't Detroit win a cup while all of the fans here were kicking and screaming about the fact Detroit is never physical enough in front of the net? You would think after 6 years we would stop harping on that issue so much. It isn't going to change. That is the system they employ and they have won with it and had issues with it. -
We should get an Italian like Cammalleri so we can play this:
-
Personally I think we can keep the offensive depth (because who doesn't want offensive depth) while our prospects get seasoned and we can rotate different players when it seems right to switch them for upgrades. As of right now it potentially can be Miller but he has been doing pretty well on the PK so I'm inclined not to worry about it until the deadline and offseason.
-
Lidstrom was a minus simply because Howard couldn't control a rebound. And didn't happen to be one of the lucky ones out on the ice when Detroit's forwards did the work. Though Salei made a good play in the Devil's zone for the second goal.

^ Looks like a creepy super villain.

And you are basing this on your opinion that Hudler will never get more than 40 points for the rest of his career. Well okay then.

The Islanders aren't even guaranteed to get the contract tolled. They could just as easily lose his rights and get nothing out of the process (which they deserve considering they were able to pick him up for nothing). -
As of right now I don't see them as a contender. Their defense is too spotty and the goaltending is going nowhere (Rolli is 41 and Ellis is a sieve). Yzerman will at least be able to watch how they perform in the playoffs to get a good perspective on what he needs to change though. Great start by him.

Hooray for honesty!

Who just called XM radio about this subject?

Support over who? In what role? You can be indifferent to a signing, you know.
-
You seem like you are surprised at this behavior.

He did play the game at a higher level than I would assume anyone on these boards did. Just another opinion from someone who likely has a better perspective than we do. Newfy: So you are admitting that fighting is not part of the conversation at all?

Put up or shut up. His agent said he would report to whichever team claims him. No matter what. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2011/01/red_wings_who_know_evgeni_nabo.html -

Wrong. His agent said he would report to whatever team picks him up. -
I would not be agaisnt Konopka joining the franchise. In the place of Drew Miller, however, and it would be a lateral move to marginal improvement. Either way, I like how Miller is finding his niche on the team. Especially considering the fourth line is our most consistent line on the team right now.
