Great teams lose to crappy teams all the time. Detroit was swept by bottom feeder Chicago in 2008 and won the cup. As much as it sucks to have a game thrown away like that, it's not like this is unheard of.

Don't know why he should be punished for that. Refs get it bad enough as it is, and he just gave a little back to a fanbase that has a history of bitching about officiating (see: Detroit's game 4 gwg/Toronto War room).
