Wrong. Read your post again. Also him being waived is irrelevant because every team in the NHL knew Holland had to move Osgood due to his salary and knowing Hasek was going to be the undisputed #1 in 2002. Once again, he statistically did better the year he left Detroit and the year before he got back. How does that support him fading into obscurity or show he was "as bad" as he was the last two years? I don't have to put them into your mouth because that was a premise of yours from the start.

You aren't even paying attention to the argument. My assertion was you were in left field when you assumed Osgood's career out of Detroit was downright awful. That is crap and the statistics show it. His numbers improved the year he left Detroit. That goes against him "sucking" or playing "terribly" according to you. End of story. You used it to cite Osgood's poor play without the Wings, and compared it to the last two regular seasons.

Milestone Watch - Chris Osgood Approaching 400 Career Wins

Backtrack backtrack backtrack. The key to any Newfy argument. So did he play as bad as he did last season or no? Seems to me like your statistics that you brought up to rebut me go against your original premise. Strange how that works. Also strange how you don't prove that Osgood's years on the Isles were so much worse than when he was on the Wings. Seems like his statistical improvement getting there wouldn't help your case, would it? You can start making quips when you actually have something.

Great game by Osgood. Really pissed that powerplay goal got through but all in all was a helping hand in Detroit's win tonight. Howard needs to do better on the faceoff charts. It looks like he doesn't even care out there.
-
Bingo. Newfy doesn't know what he is talking about. Big surprise.
-
My point was you are using bull to support why Osgood shouldn't have his jersey retired. His play didn't drop off much, if at all, when he went to other teams than the Red Wings. That is fact. He won games and took them to the playoffs each of those years. He didn't fall off the map because he was still an NHL goaltender and was able to find a starting position regardless. Already showed you multiple times.
-
A good goaltender who produced no matter what team he is on. I don't think he should have his jersey retired, but don't sell him down the river with unsubstantiated crap to make a point. I can't believe you think I said that. Read my first post on this thread, genius.

I'm sure that is what they were focused on going into the game.
-
Once again, Osgood's numbers improved after going to NYI and got worse after leaving St. Louis. He still won games on both those teams.

I think Mindfly spends far too much time "stickhandling".

Orr is a better defenseman than Lidstrom and only Red Wings fans will argue otherwise. Sorry, there is a reason people label Orr in the top 5 ALL TIME.
-
Doesn't matter. You don't publicly throw your own potential teammates and colleagues under the bus.

HF stalker.

Toronto fans are lovable now because they are losing on a consistent basis. I won't start hating the fans until they start getting wins and assume they are the front-runners for the Stanley Cup.
-
IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!
-
Ugh. Glad they got the win but they will get blown out most games with an effort like that. What happened to the second period domination?
-
I find it ironic that you would rather a hockey team fight than actually focus on playing hockey.
-
It's posts like these that make me lose faith in humanity. Lidstrom was not better than Orr. Not by a long shot.
-
2008. Also, Osgood's numbers improved when he went to NYI and then got worse after coming back to Detroit.
-
Do people like to regurgitate made up lies? Booster: did you ever see Sid Abel play?
-
Do not retired his number. In my opinion the categories for retiring a number should be as follows: 1. Made the HHOF 2. Played on the Wings for their entire career (there are a couple exceptions but very few) 3. Were legendary when they laced up the skates for the Wings There should be no question, and in Chris Osgood's case there is no way he should have his number retired.

Between 3 and 4 million, depending on how the second half and playoffs go.

Patrick Roy could back it up. Larsson hasn't backed up anything. He is a nobody, and he needs to understand he isn't somebody till he actually does something of relevance. I'm not asking for Larsson to kiss his ass. I'm saying him downright bashing him based on his stellar AHL career (oh boy Vezina candidacy here we come) is asinine. Congrats on ignoring the premise of the question. Miller and Eaves can be pissed (Mursak wouldn't be on the team regardless so he has no reason to be pissed about the other two) but they would get benched quick if they started publicly bashing their own teammates. It's called being a team player. Apparently some of the "experts" at LGW can't understand that concept. Right, because the "realists" aren't applauding Larsson for living in two years ago while Howard is playing well as an NHL starter NOW? Actually, the logical majority of us aren't even "living in the past", just that you don't get respect by attacking players who have done much more than you have. You are honestly like a mentally retarded rumor monger.
