If you don't care about what actually happened then why do you even comment on players' performances at all?
-
It was a holding penalty, dumbass. Hudler stayed on his feet and kept possession.
-
Yes, because an intended cheap shot is the exact same as accidentally slicing a person's wrist with your skate while in the midst of falling down.
-
In what? The code of hockey ethics? Is Modano supposed to think "You know, it was a freak accident, but I demand a public apology for his actions!" Come on.
-
For what? Hockey?
-
He drew a penalty and had some good shifts on the powerplay. Didn't seem to get knocked off the puck as much.
-
Holland and Babcock expected a better turnout from Hudler. Using hindsight to justify why we should have done A instead of B is ridiculous. I don't see how adding either of those players would have improved our team a great deal anyways. It's not like either of them is storming the trenches with solid play.
-
I don't believe it is made public when a player is fined by the league for comments. Correct me if I'm wrong.
-
Hudler for OV and a 2nd round pick?
-
Cool story, bro.
-
Oh so I guess being one of the only two Wings to score and doing some good things offensively against a hot team isn't good enough for you?
-
Yeah, if only he scored his usual two goals instead of one. Doesn't he have 3 goals in 5 games this month?
-
I'm not saying the call was legitimate at all. But I hate Pronger and think he is a douchebag and this is a reason why.
-
As a Wings fan, I don't care if it was the wrong call or not. What is important is Pronger shafted his team because he decided to wave his hand in the goaltender's face instead of actually try and screen the goaltender. Good job, Chris.
-
Because Wings fans never overrate their prospects based on past performance? What a stupid bump. As if we need more Hudler threads on the front page.
-
I do not believe that is right at all.
-
The team is winning, now. Yes we do. Holland doesn't rush his prospects. There is no need to bring someone up if we don't have to. Right now, a prospect isn't going to do much more than Hudler (if at all) and rushing him into the NHL could hurt his long term development as a player. Also I don't know what "solid" prospect Holland is going to get out of a player who isn't producing period. Where has Babcock stated he doesn't like Hudler? He spoke pretty highly of him before the season started.
-
There is a chance he will shape up and have value, so there is no need to dump him when his value is at an all time low. The point is waiting until the deadline gives him time to shape up at least a little, and that makes more sense than dumping him 20 games into the season.
-
I don't see how that is true. He has been rocked trying to make plays out there and has been at least giving effort. He is just small and weak on the puck. Detroit traded Leino BECAUSE of the cap. Hudler will likely be traded at the deadline if he does not shape up. No reason to trade him now when his value is at an all time low.
-
Because it was a corner snipe right above his shoulder? Howard is becoming the new Osgood on these boards.
-
I have no idea where you get that idea from. If we trade him for someone his cap goes off the books whether it is today or at the deadline. Exactly. No viable reason to trade Hudler at this point.
-
Like who? I'd rather have depth and keep our prospects in GR playing 20+ minutes than have no depth and have our rookies play 10 minutes with mediocre numbers on the team.
-
Not sure if serious. Your user name is based on tonight's score.
-
Because Detroit doesn't care. It is like when the Blackhawks swept us in 2008 while scraping the bottom of the barrel in the standings. Worthless and apparently not worth the Wings full effort.
-
Then if he is still playing like this trade him at the deadline. No use freeing up cap space we can't even utilize yet.
